HIM run leg versus HM time

straw poll - can you post your best HM time, and the best run leg you've done in a HIM.

(I know everybody's different! Just trying to get a feel for the difficulty when you've already done swim-bike).

cheers.

Re: HIM run leg versus HM time
HM - 1:38

HIM - 1:58

After 2 HIM's, I am still trying to figure out how to get my run time down. I prepared for a Marathon this summer and fall, and I think I learned that I need a lot more running mileage, and probably less cycling.

But, it's usually cool when I run HM's, and super hot during HIM's, which makes a huge difference.

Tim

Re: HIM run leg versus HM time
Best HM: 1:33:23. HIM HM: 2:03:xx. But I bet if I'd gone out on the same day to run a stand-alone HM, I'd have been more like 1:45.

Re: HIM run leg versus HM time
Last October:
HM: 2:24
HIM 2 weeks later: 2:41

February:
HM 2:22

Last Weekend:
HIM: 2:24

That isn't normal though - I think this means I can run a much faster HM, but I never really get the chance to race one. The one in Feb was the day after a hilly bike and swim, so still not an all-out race.

Re: HIM run leg versus HM time
as people have pointed out, a lot depends on course(s), temp and preparation for race.

only done 1 running half IM - did it 1.5 months into base training: 1:33

best tri run: 1:34

Hmmm... Given the size of the data set, I think you can extrapolate anything you want but, if you must do the math...

juliemboyle - +23:00
biketm - + 20:00
LeftRightRepeat - +30:00
pcsronbo - +29:00
kcwoodhead - +2:00
neildonnelly - +18:00
jroden - +27:00
runninirish - +28:00
CoachCarole - +1:00
kristine25 - +10:00

Total 10 Runners - +188 minutes
188 * 60 / 10 / 13.1 = 86 seconds/mile.
