OH, this is so tempting.....Anyone know how quickly it fills up? I had my mind set on doing it, then decided to stick with a local one in November 2008. But - this is so near my family in Michigan and it would be fun to have them all there for my first attempt at the HIM!!! Can't decide...can't decide...

I'll have to have one of those 'sit down' discussions with DH over this one....prolly have to give him a couple of beers beforehand

Still can't decide...

Beers will help! That is funny. I had a quick short discussion with DH regarding HIM while he was still high, having just completed his first marathon! He now understands better why I like training/racing, and he gave a look of 'I know you... do what you want'. I know I can manage family/work time with training - as far as the training volume goes, it won't be much different from this past season anyway. I am convinced 100% yet, however, if "I" really want to tackle this distance.

Steelhead is certainly the #1 choice if I decide to go for it due to its proximity from home and in-laws. But 8/1 is the part I don't like. When does the race fill up, within a few months or moe like April/May?

Yey, Alicia!! Good for you!! Now I am sure I will see more of you on Sat at OW practice!! Woohooooo!!

I may take a pass this year, even though I've been there last 3.

It's a nice course, well managed, and my only complaint is the one thing they cannot change - the weather.

i tried acclimation this year and it really didn't help and the heat really limits my potentional in a big way.

So to "solve" that I may change venue and go for IM Newfoundland 70.3 next year, if I determine I can afford it. With so much going on at work, and me just breaking out of my funk, I'm still not ready to commit so I'll wait and see. Or I might do Racine instead, since it seems every year I'm "off-cycle" with a TON of my local buds and honestly, I think it might be really nice to be ON cycle with the for once so I can do more group workouts together. I'm finding the social aspect more appealing every year.

They've increased the size every year for the last 3 by a LOT so I would not think it will sell out TOO quickly.

So I HIGHLY recommend the course, mild bike (1700ft climb) and mild run, and well run. So go for it!

Y - you should do it!!

There is another FAST swim practice in Milford (gettinng bigger I hear; details on www.swimfasttirfast.com)[/URL" target="_blank"> on Sat 7am, which I believe much closer than Livonia. Less than 1hr from Lansing?
