Team CRMS

I've actually been thinking about this for a while now, and apparently I'm not alone.

So who's interested in an unofficial CRMS Team? We could have our own race shirt, something with an emblem recognizable to any CR member, not just multi-sporters. That way when we race in the local 10K we have a good chance of meeting new 'imaginary' friends. Maybe a wristband...a logo...a secret handshake. All in good fun, nothing serious or expensive.

I just feel like this forum has really become like a family or group of friends, but one that rarely (if ever) gets to meet in person. So why not tighten the bond with an official team name, imaginary sponsor, and so on? We could even get the CR Kids involved as official support staff and trainees.

Again, it would be strictly all in fun. Who's in???

Re: Team CRMS
I'm in! The boomers did something like this a few years back with Cool Running Boomers dri-fit shirts and cotton T-shirts.

Do we know if the name Cool Running will survive the Active transition? And, if it doesn't, would it matter to anyone? (I don't think it would to me since I expect I'll always think of this as CRMS no matter what name it might have in the future.)

Re: Team CRMS
I'd be into a team! It would be cool!! We'd get the chance to meet other people at races, and maybe find out who lives nearby! What could be more fun?
I think that Cool Running will still be an independent site, albeit connected with Active.com.

Heck, I paid $25 to be a part of Javelin's "team." Actually, the reason that I "joined" was for a Sugoi tri outfit for an awesome price.

I would be interested in a CRMS "team."

Re: Team CRMS
Hmm... I like the idea and all but... I'm already part of a running club and a tri-club - that's already one more singlet than I can wear in any given race. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue.

How about a bike flag? You know, on a nice whippy eight foot fiberglass pole! OK, maybe that won't work on the race course - but it'd be great in the transition area! Tape your pole to the rack or stick it in the ground and both other folks and YOU can find your bike!

My tri-club hands out temporary tattoos at races - look great on a big calf muscle. Makes it easier to spot club-mates.

Caps?

I like the caps idea. I have to wear my team logo for AV, so a cap would be grreat.

I'm not sure I can get anymore tats on my calf?

Great idea! I'm in.

I also think that we should have options or multiple ways to display the team name for those that have have other tri-suits that they must wear.

Re: Team CRMS
I would so be in!! I know my personal goals are to travel all over for races, not to just stay local, and how cool would that be to "bump into an old friend" at an event. I like the whole secret handshake idea:-)

I'm in, even if it's just a t-shirt that you can wear around while setting up in transition or after the race.

Re: Team CRMS
I would like a t-shirt (long sleeve or short) or a visor.

Who's going to design the artwork?

I'm really liking this idea. Maybe something like this one[/URL" target="_blank"> - two-piece collapsible pole. I like it because a) it's pretty cheap - maybe $15 with a custom flag, b) it's not a shirt so it doesn't conflict with other "kits", c) it's downright useful in transition - will make sure you can spot your spot, and d) could be kind of unique, trend-setting, desirable for the "team"??

Just tell me to shut up if this is a stupid idea.
