TY ~ Sorry you haven't been sleeping well. (((((((((TY))))))))))

Amber ~ That's great that you have a wet suit. Where is your tri? Is your family going to watch???

Alemma ~ It's an 8k in my town. Just a small race.

TY--what about swimming--can you swim instead of ride?

It's the same for me at my race tomorrow. My mom might come, but dh asked last night, "Do we have to go watch you again?? When you run 5 miles from here I don't have to go out and cheer for you when you finish?" It was half joke, half serious. But he really doesn't understand racing at all - he doesn't see the point of going somewhere else to run when you can just step outside your house and run the same distance. grrrrrrrr

Re: Running Moms and Dads, Saturday
MFARR--its in my home town (a mile down the road)--an no--no one is really watching. DS has soccer practice--so dh is taking him--and my mother is wacthing ds1 and says she will watch--but I know she wont--so its a little sad that I have no support on a race so close to home--but oh well. My nieghbor is going to take pictures of me--so she will be there

Re: Running Moms and Dads, Saturday
I could swim, but when I am not motivated, swimming is really hard for me. No distractions...

I think I will just get my good'ol' book and get my sorry @ss out the door to the gym, even if I have to ride slow. If I can get 45 minutes, it will be a super achievement for me today.

Marianne - Purpose a trade. Tell DH he doesn't need to go if he lets you come down in December. Just tell him it is a very important conference, with guest speakers (with that bunch, that will be a lot of speaking ), workshops and stuff huh! huh! hu!

Morning, Paul! Have a good day at work. Wow -- 2:45, isn't that earlier than usual?

Abbie - Enjoy your 10 and have a great time at the game and bike shopping!

Gaela, Sisu, and Alemma - Rock those 12s!

Lee! Have a good 8 -- use the time to make backup plans for the party!!! Yikes!

Rest day for me. DS6 has his first soccer game this morning, then DD11 wants to practice running the 'green monster' (a BIG hill) on the HS XC course with her JV buddies and DS14 wants to run the course a couple of times in prep for Wednesday's home meet. Somewhere in there I have a bundle of editing for work to get done and a house to clean.

I ordered fancy-schmancy dinners from our local catering company for my date with DBF tonight - celebrating his birthday. Between my 3 kids, his 4 kids, and both our work, community, and workout commitments, we don't have a lot of time together, and I didn't want to share him with waiters and waitresses tonight!

CJ - Is your race today? Run like the wind!

Have a great day everyone -- good runs, rests, and xts!

{{{{{{{{MFarr}}}}}}}}} I'm sorry your family is sick. I hope they feel better soon. Good luck with your race tomorrow? What race is it?

CJ is running a race too? What race is he doing?

Well, one family member is now awake so I'm signing off.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!! Love ya all! I'll check back later for RRs.

Re: Running Moms and Dads, Saturday
I'm back from 12 on the bike. Thank goodness for the running books. It actually kept me very distracted and, although I rode slowly I got it done, despite the odds.

Hey CJ, have a nice prep day for tomorrow.

Marianne - you MUST come.

I am making noodles to take to work. I'll try to hydrate and carboload well today for my 18 tomorrow.
