Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Good morning, everyone...
4.5 miles on the TM this morning in 47:58. Not too hard, not too easy, just good. HR was up slightly over 75% but still felt strong. Funny, If I break up my HM into three separate runs like that, I will practically be across the finish line...LOL

DOR for me tomorrow. I am looking forward to it. I think I am really starting to appreciate the structure of an actual running training plan for this race. Having a goal to shoot for - being ready for the HM - certainly is not a bad thing either.

I have recently wondered what I will do after the HM. I know I will take a couple of days off, maybe do some light runs, but after that, I will have to find some regular running grove to get into... But that is a topic for another time.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments and positive vibes. I will drop back in later on.

Peace on you,

Yeesh I am so jealous of you guys with jobs! I have been looking for employment since May. It is extremely frustrating....ugh...

I did 1 hour on the elliptical yesterday, today I am heading out for 3 or 4 depending on how the ankle feels, got a new battery for the mp3 player, got a new pair of mizuno wave rider 10s, I am ready to go!

alex - how are you feeling ?

julezc - Yay Garmin!

chuck - Nice 4 miler!

wbertha - We are set to get back up in the 80s today but that is ok for me! Nice job on the DM

futuretri - I have an amphipod belt with 1 - 20 oz bottle that rests on my back. I had to mess with it a bit so it would stop bouncing but finally got it right. It worked well, although I have to be careful not to drink too much. My race will have aid stations set up every 2 miles so I am going to mimic that and only drink at those times.

creative1 - I have been using arnica gel on my ankle 3 times a day, I'm not sure if it was the timing or if it actually has helped but after I started using it I saw a lot of improvement.

Joe & Dana - Good morning!

Jen - my hubby has been coming down with something too...eat lots of oranges! Stay hydrated!

ctmama & goindownsouth- Nice runs!

Have a fantastic day all, I'll check in after my run...

hey gang, i'm about to head to the dentist for a quick check-up, but i wanted to check in here first. did 4 miles this morning and it was good, but tiring. i really wanted to go 5, but i needed to get to work, and honestly i was tired. and then i checked my schedule and i only needed 3 today, so i guess i'm good.

Joe. The storm has not gotten in the gulf yet but they did say if it comes to us it will not have enough time to strenthen. I'm on the pan handle of Fl. Between Mobile Al and Pensacola Fl. However, you may need to watch it because if it comes that way they say it could be a Hurricane.

Everyone; Thanks for the well wishes for Ash, she is doing great today,, no pain. She has been hurtting for over a month so I thank God she is not hurtting anymore. They said she could go back to work tomarrow.

Anyone who is thinking about buying a Garmen and wondering if it's really worth it let me assure you it is. The one thing I like most is the freedom it gives you to run anywhere you'd like. I had courses measured out by the car and would stick to that course, now I just go where I won't turn down any road or trail. Not to mention your pace is right there, you don't have to waite for a mile marker to know your pace. to those of you waitting on santa, I normally see him in the malls around November, I can jack him up and take yours and send it to you early if you'd like!!!!!!!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Jeep725.. Grass is always greener on the otherside. I am sitting here wishing I wasn't working. However, I suppose sitting at home would be one less income. What type of work are you looking for?

alex.. I am chuckling over your lovely headlight - if u could only picture the visual.

julez... The Garmin? I am so jealous!! The way Joe speaks of it I am surprised it doesn't have a built in mister or fan. ROFL

chuck... Will u continue running without the iPod? I was thinking about that on my morning run but I don't think I can do it. Need to try since my 1/2 won't allow them but I dunno. Grrrrrrrrrrrr We have had a light Hurricane Season so far, huh? {KNOCKING ON WOOD}

wbertha.. I'm with ya on how boring a TM can be. What does the 305 get ya that your 201 doesn't? (Shhhh - don't tell Joe I am inquring)

Will... dumb question... what is a Amphipod fuel belt? Is it just a belt that will hold water bottles?

creative1.... ahh - you should create your OWN halfer! LOL How far must you travel to find one?

Joe... It BOUNCED and was rejected by the bank. ROFL

Jen.. FLUIDS and HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP! Hope you feel better soon!! {HUGS}

ctmama... Don't hope for warm air!! I need COOL air. LOL Glad you enjoyed your run last night!

Dan#2.... Already planning ahead, huh? Now that is motivation. Nice job on your TM run.

Trying to scroll back to who did an hour on the Eliptical....... AHHHHH Jeep725 - HOLY MOLY! I can't do more than 4 minutes....haven't tried in 2 years but I know I can't. But.... gonna challenge myself tonight maybe. hehehe

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Hello all. Man, I come in today after daughter being sick and YIKES. Lots of work. Quick hello to all.

HURRICANE? Again, JOE what are we going to do with the darn weather? It drives me crazy. I HATE hurricane season.

Well, last night was rest for me. Tonight will run 50 minutes. I am trying to figure something out though. I could use you guys' help.

I started running in May okay. I am now in training for a half in Jan. On my long runs on Sat. (which is now up to 6 miles according to my schedule and running with the running club) I do 4/1's. During the week we run anywhere from 40-50 minutesa 3 days. Should I do 4/1s on my shorter runs or try and run straight through? Advice please???

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Dana; I have a garmin 205, the difference is the heart moniture, I think that is all. The 205 does not have one.

Peg; this is just my opinion but I think it depends on your goal for the HM. If you're going to run walk it I think the way you're going is fine. The more of the shorter runs you're able to do without walking, the better you'll feal after you HM. I think!

Joe - I do love running in the rain. We need to get together for another Memorial Park run soon. Hopefully work will let up some and I will let you know when.

Chuck - did you know you cannot see your pic on your profile.

May have to do treadmill tonight so I can watch America's Next Top Model. HAHA. I know I am such a nerd.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
I did 4 <bleeping> miles today! Weather was on the sultry side, 81-ish, all sun. Finished in 53:29, 13:22 avg pace...and this was doing 1/1 intervals! I was flying on those minute runs tho...for me anyway...

Dana - hey I love your signature quote...LOL...My elliptical is in front of the tv so I pop in a netflix dvd and just go...great cross training!

Peg - Hi! FWIW I do intervals on my short runs too, but I tend to run them a little faster than on the long runs. Although I would imagine if you did run straight through, you'd be building up an endurance base...alas I am not experienced enough to be more definitive...try it out maybe once a week and see how it goes!

Joe - so you are sending donations and clothing? Did I miss the sign up sheet???

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Jeep725... Thanks. I can't take credit for it though. I stole it from Joe who was trying to motivate me away from complaining about my 4 mile the other day.

Peg312... Funny about Top Model. Moments ago I was on Tivo Online scheduling Top Model and a few others I saw in People Magazine today.

Joe... thanks for the email and chekcing out the site. One can only do so much with a free website. But it has helped a few family members and friends get in shape.

Sitting here at work putting a couple Audio Books on my iPod - changing it up a notch. LOL

Hey Joe, just for your info, my last name is Mooney so you can donate to me and get a charity write off LOL. I'm not bald and dance in airports in a sheet.

Peg; Yes I know I messed it up and don't know how to fix it
