Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
creative1 - Are you able to walk ok now? I was fearful when I went back out, I thought for sure it was going to worsen again, but it hasn't. It starts out a little stiff but once I'm warmed up, it's fine. My first runon Monday I did 3 miles at 1/1 intervals to ease back in. And of course lots of ice afterwards, and I'm still icing it regularly every day. I figure I can't over do that! The time off made me appreciate running even more

Dan - WTG tackling those hills! So it does get easier, eh?

dan2 - Have you figured out a goal time for finishing the half yet?

carol40 - Congrats on your 10k!

My 7 is in the books, and it was fantastic. I was SO looking forward to it after the injury time off..so positive vibes all around. I adjust my strategy to 2/1 intervals from 3/1 and it seems to be just right, and a PR!

Now...TIME FOR SOME FOOTBALL..GO MICHIGAN!!

I'm shooting for 9 min. mile pace. I'm racing w/ a couple other guys and that's about where they're at. It should be realistic for me as well I'm hoping.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Good afternoon gang,

Wow you are all a chatty bunch these days. I have been so busy with school that I check the pages but don't have time to write. I'ts been a struggle to get out to run this week. I can't believe how tiring excercising my brain is. I'm exhausted by 9:30. Having a rough time staying up past 10 pm. Oh well 3 months and things will slow down hopefully later.

Got out today for what was suppossed to be 3 miles but felt so good I did 4. Long run planned for tomorrow. I'm thinking 8 but if it feels good may go 10. My 1/2 is next Sunday. Gonna take it easy the rest of the week.

Dan, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Carol, way to go!!! good 10k. You beat your original set time.

To everyone else..... Have good runs or enjoy your rest days!

Corrina

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Corrinabear, my half is next Sunday also. Good Luck!!!

Went for a run this morning. Was supposed to be 6 to 8 miles. Stopped at 4 an I believe that I had a PW (personal worst). Was sore, stiff and tired and it just didn't seem to let up. Will try to rest this evening and get plenty of sleep. Will try for a few miles tomorrow to see how it goes.

Good runs and races to all,
wbertha

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of September 16th
Good morning, folks... Uneventful Sunday for me... I stretched and did some core work and pushups this morning. I feel pretty good the day after the 7.2 mile run yesterday. I may consider bumping it up to 9 miles next Saturday. Stay tuned...

No word yet on results from any tests on my mom. We may know more by Tuesday or so. They do not expect to release her until then. Times like this really make me wonder what I was thinking moving so far away.

Thanks again for all of the thoughts and prayers of support.

Be well, y'all,
Dan
