hey, I actually got a lsd in without cramping! 7.52 this morning in 1.24. Felt great also. I ran my long loop route and made it the whole way without walking.

Jeep hope you're having a great race!!!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of October 21st
Well I wish I was! It was a race-day decision to sit the race out. I went down and cheered on my sister, since we planned on racing together.

There will be other races, I need to go to the doc and probably get an x-ray and maybe some stronger pills so I can get back on my feet with a healthy ankle.

Oh it was really really sad at the start but I went and cheered everyone at the finish line so at least I had some fun.

Jeep, you made the right choice, no need to hurt yourself worse. How'd your sister do? Let us know what the Doc says, hope you the best with that. If you have a bike get ya some miles in on it to keep you fresh and motivated.

Jeep -- Smart move to skip running the race. You want to be running for many years to come. If you had run favoring your injury, you're just asking for another one and more time off.

Joe and Chuck -- nice LSD's for you both!

Another beautiful day here. Nothin' doin' except some football this afternoon! Go Cowboys!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of October 21st
Hi everyone, got up this morning and did some yoga. My body feels back to normal. It took 2 weeks to get over my 1/2. That was rough.

Joe and Chuck- looks like both of you had good long runs. I might try 4 miles tomorrow.

Jeep--I agree with everyone else. You made the right decision. Hope you get good news from the doc.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Sun.

Jeep...sorry you had to opt out of racing today...I totally know how you feel, but it was a good decision...there are many more races but you only have one (well, two actually! LOL!) ankles...

Chuck..great job on the 7.52...WTG! I 'dream' of a 7 miler...

No run for me today but that's ok...it is a beautiful day though...

Enjoy the day everyone!

Tough decision, Jeep, but don't want to make it worse...good luck with the recovery.

Ran 8 mi today...tried to keep the pace down -- working on tapering...won't run any more than another 8 miles total for the rest of the week.

Good Sunday runs to all...

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of October 21st
jeep - sorry to hear that you had to sit out the race, but I think it was probably the right decision. I hope the ankle is feeling better soon, so you can get back out there again.

Peg - how was the bridge?

I ran 5 miles today. Oh, let me say that again. I ran 5 miles today. Count 'em. Five! Oh my! I have rolled that over and over again in my brain thinking how could it even be possible. I know that's not a lot for most of you, but it was big, huge deal for me. I couldn't finish the last two intervals on W1D1 of the C25K back in July. I begged for mercy at the end of every running interval during Week 3. I argued with the podcast every time it said, "Ready?" during Week 5. And now here I am running 5 miles. Unbelievable!

Normally Sunday is a rest day for me, but I had to juggle my schedule for this run. So, now the big question is whether or not to alter my Monday routine. I do strength training on Monday and Wednesday, so do I stick with that for tomorrow. Should I crank down the weight a little on the lower body machines or just do everything as usual. My legs feel fine right now, though they were pretty tired after I got back from my run.

I'm so looking forward to the forecast 50 degree morning this week. Happy running everyone!!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of October 21st
Marilynn you're doing great!

Joe, I'm watching your Cowboys and just seen that Defensive lineman for the Vikens run 80 yards and about die in the endzone LOL, he needs to join our group and get in better shape.

Bugs great run today, I listened to my Ipod on my 7 today, do you have one or do you run without?

Sheila it has been a nice weekend here also but now it's startting to rain again and suppose to get a lot of rain tonight and tomarrow. I'm sick of rain even though we do need it.

Dana and Gale? Where are you? And Dan # 2 ? Doing great I hope.

Peg hope your bridge run went well. We have one in December where you run 2 bridges, one of which is 3 miles long, It's a 15k. It's a long the bay then across the bridges to the whittest beaches in the world. It's called the Doulble bridge run in Pensacola. A great race.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of October 21st
Joe, I really hope so. It's a beautiful run. The last time I ran it, which was a couple of years ago before I got sick, Dolphins swam along the last part of the bridge. It's a 15k,along the water the whole way. I ran it in 1.14 the last time I ran it but I know it's going to take some time to get back to that but I'm ok with that just as long as I can still run. They advertise it on cool running or they did last year anyway. It's around December or Janurary, not sure.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of October 21st
Thanks everyone! What a great group we have here Yeah it was a tough decision but it was the right one.

Bugs - Nice job on the 8 miler! Remind me what race are you doing?

Marilyn - congrats on your 5 miles! Think of it this way, each time you add a mile it's a new personal record!

chuck - so you have a bridge run too eh? Maybe I should come down there and do yours!

We are watching Vikings/Dallas, I think my sister is a bit smitten with that Adrian Peterson LOL
