Jeep, come on down! You can run the 5k which is just 1 birdge or run the double which is the best. I actually like the 15k race better then any other there is just not that many close to me. Adrein Petterson is awesome, I pull for him because he has had such a tuff life.
I researched it on active.com and it's Feb 2nd.

Chuck --- to answer your question re: Ipod -- I run au natural (that would be without )

Marilyn -- WTG on your 5 --- any of us who regularly run more than five can probably empathize. Just this morning, I thought "Geez, it wasn't that long ago (probably just 6 months) that running 8 miles (and feeling really good) seemed so beyond my capabilities...." Keep it up & you'll be looking back on this 5 the same way.

Since a couple of you asked: Lake Natomas 4 Bridges (I'll join the bridge runners -- where are you Peg?) HM is Sunday, October 28 --- next week, already!!!

Marilynn you're doing great! Soon 5 miles will not even seem that long.

Jeep, hope the doc gives you good news. Keep us posted.

Just 3 easy recovery miles for me today. The first mile seemed hard. I was a little more stiff and sore than I realized plus it was very windy which didn't help.

Well, tomorrow is a rest day, tonight is football, so all is well with the world.

mom-great job on the 5 today. That is such a great feeling!

joe-yippee taper week!

I was hoping to finally run today, but major wind has caused fires everywhere around us. Air quality is terrible. Guess I could run at the gym on the tm, but I am not that desparate.

Well, I am sorry to say that I am an idiot and set my alarm clock for 5 PM yes PM. So, I woke up to late and didn't make the bridge run. I did run 4.25 Sat afternoon though. It was a beautiful day, I thought I would be okay without the fuel belt and was not. So stopped at the 4 miles. I wanted to try and do at least 6.

Well my friend called me this morning and it looks like we are going to do a half relay this Sunday. That is if she doesn't mind how slow I am.

Jeep - good decision. Don't want it to get worse.

Sounds like everyone else had some good runs.

Hi everyone! We're off to a quick start with the thread this week!

Peg and Jeep, sorry to hear you missed your runs, Jeep probably a wise decision.
Peg, I am puzzled what you have in your fuel belt for a 6 mile run, perhaps just water? I have not tried anything other than water, gatorade once or twice on longer runs, and V8 vegetable juice (for the sodium). This has been for runs up to 15 miles, less than 10 miles I only take water. I do not know much about this subject, perhaps what I am doing is wrong?

Bugs, stick to your taper plan, its tempting to do more but not helpful.

Easy couple of weeks ahead after my race, I ran only 3 times this week, same next week. After that I plan to build up my miles again for spring, next race a half in early April on a very hilly course, and perhaps a couple of 10k races to see if I'm improving.

Simon - I only take water or gaterade. I am new to this subject myself. I am hearing from people in my running club that once you get past 6 miles, you can take the gu and such. I may get the gummies at that point.

Hi everyone, ended up running yesterday afternoon with a friend. I did run my own speed though. Was going for 4 miles but stopped at 3 and ran-walked the rest with Melissa. The wind was really blowing and it was about 82 degrees.

I'm glad I got it done though because its raining buckets here today.

Looks like everyone is doing great.

Ok, went to the Dr today and the news is, I'm a pain in the arse! LOL, I have hemroids. Personal I know, but so glad it's nothing serious. My Doc's a runner and said I should be fine running.

Marilynn, is you Half in Feb?

Joe, today is an off day but we're getting rain again! Suppose to clear up tomarrow around noon then turn cold. Low of 49! It's gonna snow!

Peg, good luck on your race this weekend.

Oh by the way Ashleys treatments have really helped her. She is thinking about ridding her bike this weekend.
