RUN like the DEVIL

Well, my inlaws leave tomorrow so I am hoping to be able to get back to normal.
Got another sub par run in on Friday - din't get as far I wanted. But I really enjoyed the run. In a couple of weeks we are joining a local 24 hour type fitness place. I'll my lame attempts at strength training for serious structured effort.
Hope all is well for everyone.

Completed week 5 of OHR today. I left the dog at home but my DD rode her bike along with me. Ran for 38 minute without complaint. I tried listening to a couple new podcasts and it was pretty pleasant.

Novaks- I should be strength training, too. Maybe I can get it done this week.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Had a nice easy 30 minute run today. The weather here has been gorgeous. I forgot to check the temp but it was definately summer like. Got a nice compliment while I was running. I passed a man who was walking the other way and he told me I had great running form. so either I had great running form or he was just creepy. No creepy vibe though.

Lisac- I hope you get your run in soon. We could use some more run reports around here.

lisac77 - good luck on the heart walk. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting back to running.

danceandrun - not only are you hardcore now, but you have great form! What a nice compliment, sans creepy vibes.

novacks - have fun on the ellipitical, or try to. With weather getting dodgy, more people work out indoors and I find that to be really difficult. I've set up the bike trainer in front of the TV so, if I want to watch my favorite show, I have to be biking. It helps take my mind off the dullness of working out indoors alone. If you've got a buddy to work out with, that can help as you pass the time and keep the cardio in the 'moderate' zone.

I actually did some running yesterday! The achilles tendon is feeling better after 2 weeks of no running and some exercise, stretching and massage. I hiked on it over the weekend, very steep course over 2 miles, and it was great the next day, so I decided it was time to add in some running. I went to my local park and ran/walked the trail. Walked all the uphills and ran some of the flats and downhills. I did 2 miles, running about 1/3 of it. I stopped myself from doing a 3rd lap as I thought that might be pushing it a bit much. It's a little stiff today, but feeling pretty good. So, I'll be easing back into the running and keeping up with the cross training. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if I'm careful, I can get past this injury thing and get back into a nice running routine.
