Restarting C25k @ week 5? Bueller?

Hi Everyone--
I'm looking for some inspiration, a nudge, a shove... something! I completed the C25k in June, ran 2 5k's and was starting the first week of the OHR program when everything came to a screeching halt. I lost my job, the following week I was in a severe car accident (not my fault but still) that totalled my car and left me on medical restriction for 6 weeks while I rehabbed.

I've been cleared to run for a few weeks now, and I can't find the motivation. I did run once about two weeks ago, at the C25k week 5 level and honestly it wasn't difficult physically. I'm going to attempt to get myself back into the swing starting off with week 5 and go from there. I'm hoping the board still has weekly groups so I can find someone to be accountable to as well. (In my insomnia I did some cursory checking and didn't see any...)

So I'm out of excuses: shoes feel odd, ipod isn't charged, hate the podcasts/love the podcasts, weather isn't cool enough, not enough sleep, Oprah is on... You get the picture! I have to do this. I have to get back to where I was, because where I'm at right now is not helping my situation.

Re: Restarting C25k @ week 5? Bueller?
I trained hard, sometimes 6 or more hours a day, trying to break a 4 minute mile at one point in my life, and I came within 1 second of that goal. Then I met someone and couldn't handle balancing the relationship and the training. Long story short, ended up taking about 5 years off. I've been training again for about 5 weeks, and I can't even run a mile in under 6 minutes yet. I'm still trying to lower my time down below 4 minutes, because I still haven't passed that physiological barrier where I won't be able to do it anymore, and it's a lifelong dream for me.

It's difficult to motivate yourself to train when you know that you are training to be somewhere where you've already been physically, but if it ultimately makes you happy, and helps you to feel good about yourself, it has to be done! There's no better feeling than looking back on your efforts and being glad that you tried!

If I can do it, so can you! Don't let your discouragement hold you back for 5 years, like it did me. Trust me, it's a very bad feeling, but I've learned to move on.
