20s Monday - Anyone here today?

Looks like I get to start it again.

I had an awesome weekend! I was the "manager on duty" at the hotel Saturday night, so I had Amy stay with me. We got a deluxe king room with tub. She joined me after she got off work, I grabbed some take-out from the restaurant and we enjoyed an absolutely perfect night until finally dozing off around 2:00 a.m.

In the morning she had to work again (day #16 straight and double #8 in those), so I carried out all our bags and loaded up the cars. She headed down to work and I finished up my paperwork for the shift. I grabbed breakfast at the restaurant, then brought her breakfast and a latte where she happened to be working that day.

We unofficially get a comp day for doing this so I'm planning on mine tomorrow when she finally gets a day off. I have no idea what we're going to do yet, but it's looking like a sunny day so I imagine it'll be something shooting-related.

I've also started work on one of her Christmas gifts because I think it'll take a while. What I'm doing is taking all the photos we've taken together, organizing them chronologically, and creating a book with the story of us so far. Her birthday is also on Christmas, and I'm planning on using this as the "card" with my own message to her on the first page since those only thrown away anyway and she can keep this.

Still no running, so I can't technically post here but I'm feeling rebellious. I just haven't had the time. Between normal work and trying to start this up, it's taking all of my time I used to devote to running and then some.

Hi 20's,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I didn't get any running in because I was scuba diving all weekend. I finished my advanced open water certification and did some fun dives too. We did underwater pumpkin carving. Here are some photos[/URL" target="_blank"> from the carving. Thats about it for me. I did do a 4 miler this morning so I didn't total skip out on my running.

Morning 20s,
I didn't get to post on Friday b/c my school's internet was down most of the day. I did 7 miles before school with the dog.

Friday night DH and I went out for oysters. Saturday morning Chloe and I ran 7 miles, then we went to graduation from her obidience class. They had the room set up with 6 stations and we were scored on each. The winning dog got 20% off the next class session. She did everything. Some of the stations took a few tries but she did great. We didn't win but it was fun. After lunch, we took a nap and then DH had studying to do while I was lazy. Yesterday morning I had a 15 mile long run. It went pretty well. I napped again and then we went grocery shopping and watched the baseball game.

Today is crosstraining. I am staying late at school to get work done, then going to the gym near here, then coming back at 6pm for a soccer parent meeting. big fun.

Hello 20s!
I am hoping some of you remember me! I haven't beena round for about 6 months. I finished my half marathon in May and decided Iw as tired of running for a while. I guess it's not a "lifestyle" for me. But I want to do the half again this year, and I figure I will need 6 months to get ready so I am back! Shouldn't be too too hard since I am prety active anyway. So I did an easy 2.5 on Friday and I will do 3 today.

Julie- I really enjoyed reading about your Chloe. Sounds like a great running friend. I'm lucky if my fat dachshunds will sleep next to the treadmill while I work out.

Soldevi- sorry I am not up to date, but how long have you been seeing Amy? Are there lots of pictures to sort through? Anyway, I think your gift sounds like an amazing and thoughtful one. Brownie points!

Hi 20's!

I had a fairly lazy weekend. Ran 4 miles with Connor and Katie on Saturday, then went biking on my new bike, it's really awesome, I love it. It was super windy, the roads at the park are pretty curvy, but I did a few short straight stretches a couple times, worked really hard on the way out, then came back as fast as I could! It was really fun. I'll try to take some pictures of the new bike soon and post them. Sunday I just graded some papers and was mostly lazy. DH and I watched Boston kick butt on Sat. and Sun. night!
I didn't work out at the gym this morning partly because we were up late watching the game and partly because I was hoping to go riding after work, but it's rainy and cold here so I may have to settle for putting the bike on the trainer tonight.

soldevi-- that sounds like an awesome christmas present for Amy, very thoughtful

proto-- great pumpkin carving pics, who has the pumpkin on their head? I'd be scared it would get stuck! Those pumpkins look pretty good especially for being carved underwater! Next weekend I'm doing a pumpkin hunting dive trip, no carving I guess but find a pumpkin and win a prize.

Julie-- congrats on Chloe's graduation!

sjwyne-- welcome back! I'm also getting ready for a half marathon mine's in Feb.

I ran on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Saturday I ran 4 miles, which is the farthest I've ever gone so far. It was pretty tough, but I did it.

I tried to go 3 miles yesterday and it was just awful! My legs were killing me and I had to stop to walk 2 times before it was done with. Luckily I was running with a friend and she was a great encouragement, otherwise, I would have just quit.

protoplasm - those pictures look so cool! Reminds me that I need to get a pumpkin to carve.

ulieruns - my dog Linus runs with me nad he loves it. I've thought about obedience school for him since he's a jack russell and is pretty hyper all the time.

Hey guys... no running, still, although my foot's feeling MUCH better. I'm tempted to run outside today, but I think one more day of staying off is wise. So, I'm not too happy, but there ya go. I would totally go to the gym and cross-train, but the gym I belong to is unbearably crowded in the evenings . So, I'll just accept the mushy belly and loss of fitness, and start up again sometime this week.

Anyways, I had a really good weekend. Thursday night and all day Friday we had recruiting events in our office... we're a small group so we all got together for a meeting to discuss who we're going to send offer letters to. It was fun to see it all go down, and kind of amazing to hear why people are ruled out. Just about everyone was a really strong candidate, but some people were either too quiet, or we didn't think they'd actually accept our offer, or we think they might want to go back to school after just a couple of years.

My good friend from NYC who works here during the week stayed in town, and flew her roommate out as well. We had a nice weekend of eating out and going out, so no complaints. I begged off on a hike to one of my favorite spots b/c of the **** foot.

It snowed here yesterday morning, so beautiful.

That's about it. Hi to all!
