**I have recently heard about this supplement mostly made for bodybuilders, BUT some cyclists and some tri-athletes have used this too...is it good for long distance running/cross country?
I would have to say yes althought I'm not licensed to say it is a fact I can say that I've been using it for strength training, and after my weight lifting I have MORE than enough energy to run at a good clip for an extended period of time.
I have used it several times for long distance running taking it about 30 minutes prior to my run. It gives you great energy (due to the high caffeine amounts) and the Nitric Oxide pumps the blood through your body faster and harder. However, I stopped taking it. It will definitly dehydrate you and you will need to drink 4x more water than usual. It gave me headaches. It is mainly used for pumps when lifting. One other thing, it dissallows nutrients to transfer into your muscles. Muscle cramps begin to develop due to NO xplode. I would not recommend it.

Good Luck!
Illegal steroids from 3rd world countries are best. They cure cancer and build huge muscles. Astronauts from Lithuania use them to wrestle Siberian Tigers to the death. Runners from Kenya use them to win marathons, not because they train hard and eat well, but because they take weird crap from internet websites! YEEHA!
beerpace, you are too funny.
What is "BSN" - bull sh nausea? Another "secret formula" that the medical profession doesn't want any of us to know about but you can buy it - just make the $$$ check out to "cash" in three easy installments.
I am getting tired of these wonder pills or super duper powder drinks that claim to increase power or strength or speed. Eat right and workout-this is the proven and safe way to lose weight, get strong and be healthy. Some supplements may help when you don't get a chance to eat well, but that is what they are-supplements, not replacements. Most people here have real concerns or questions, then you get the goofs that post only once or twice that are touting a product masked as a question. Buyer beware.
I have been following this topic of various comments in regards to BSN's NO Xplode powder supplement, I find some of the comments helpful, thank you. Bottom line is I only wanted to find out if it "enhances" my long distance running at a faster pace. I usually run 4-
6 miles three or four times a week depending on weather. I am training for half-marathons (13 mi.) with a very strict eating schedule.
Any other supplements if not for the award winning brand BSN? Nutrition is not a problem with me, but I would like an advantage in a safe way.
Oh, I still have not tried the product...yet. I probably should do more research or find someone who swears by it.
FaithDawg, i understand your concern with wanting to improve your endurance and your recovery, and this is indeed the forum to find info.
When you see "award winning", you can bet that it's an in-house award and that any "research results" were crudely done with a select group of people who have a financial interest in the product. It's like a high school flunkie correcting their own exams and giving themselves a good grade because gramma promised them $5.
Luckily, you can find out legimate results by entering the product in the Google Scholar search engine and looking for peer-reviewed articles. For instance, there's a beverage called FRS which was commissioned by the Dept of Defense to be tested in the Western 100 to see if it's antioxidant qualities helped, because that can be carried over to our military. I don't know what the results were, but FRS was nicely researched by major uiniversities. If BSN... is in good scientific standing, let us know. Also, 1/3 people will react positively to the placebo effect. Take that for what it's worth.
I don't know about it, however I have used L-Glutamine and it has work extremely well for me.

I have been using Myoplex Lite shakes and bars by EAS right after I go on a 5 1/2 mile hike and find there is a huge difference. I am getting the protein I need to help refuel and rebuild muscles and its toning me up in time for summer which is ridiculously hot here in Los Angeles. Anyone else try it?
Oh and L-Glutamine is god for brain power mostly which might be why you are getting more out of your work out with it. My dad used to run a health food store.
Check out Carnitine as well but BEWARE that it has a tendency to give you hormonal rushes and men and women can get a little agro on it after taking it.
