Re: a-WEIGH-we-go!!! 29.Oct - 4.Nov
Hi there all!

I am all healed and back to the gym. Boot camp has been postponed to Dec 3.

Monnier- it has been cool here as well. This morning it was 36. Your dream dress is beautiful!

Michelle- great job at jumping right back in to the running pool! (((HUGS))) for you and Stella. I hope she feels better soon!

Cherrie- YAY for no knee pain! I would love to have your lunch recipe!! That sounds amazing and for only 6 points? yes, please!

Melanie- dress shopping? I can officially say? I DO NOT MISS that! You need to go though it will be a fun time with your sister!

Mary- So very proud of you! Looks like you had a lot of fun! Finish line wine looks like a cool idea? you deserve every gulp!

Jhi- nice to see you!

OK I really should get something done around here vs. just playing tetris!

Re: a-WEIGH-we-go!!! 29.Oct - 4.Nov
Sarah Here is the recipe. It is really good. My DH finished the entire bowl last night and told me I should go on TV to teach people how to cook. I explained that all I do is follow recipes but it was cute.

Italian Chicken-Sausage Fettuccine (WW recipe)

cooking spray
1 (8 oz) container of chopped green bell pepper, celery and onion (I couldn't find this so I chopped 1 pepper, 3 celery sticks and 1 onion)
1 tsp bottled minced garlic (I use fresh and mince it)
1 (6 oz) package Italian flavored cooked chicken breasts strips
2 (3.3 oz) links pesto-flavored chicken-turkey sausage (such as Aidells) (I used Cajun flavored chicken-turkey sausage for a little extra kick)
1 (9 oz) package refrigerated fettuccine
2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes with Italian herbs (undrained)
1/4 c (1 oz) shredded fresh parmesan cheese

Heat a large nonstick skillet w/ cooking spray - add veggies and garlic - saute 3 - 4 minutes or until tender - remove from pan

begin to boil the water for the fettuccine (do not put salt and oil)

coat chicken and sausage with cooking spray and saute in pan until sausage is lightly browned (4 minutes or so)

add fettuccine to the boiling water until done then drain

add the veggies, tomatoes and cooked pasta - toss gently, sprinkle with cheese and serve

makes 6 1 1/2 cup servings (6 points)

Melanie - look at those guys checking you out as you cross the finish line!! I think you look great - and you are a runner!!! WooHoo!!

Jhi - We've missed your posts. So glad to see you checking in. I'm so glad your thesis is done and that things are more low key. I hope you get the job that you truly want - you deserve it! Your grandma sounds a lot like my MOM! How old is she?

{{{Michelle}}} I agree with Jhi about packing and waiting it out. I really hope you can go. Somehow things always have a way of working themselves out.

Melnanie - Holy **** - 70 times around the track! I'd get frickin dizzy. LOL!

Cherrie - that recipe looks good and pretty easy too! That is so sweet about your DH saying you should go on TV!

Sarah - Welcome back!! So happy that you feel better. Is the family all well now too??

I had no idea what the temp was this morning, so I wore my capris, long sleeve shirt, jacket, light gloves and head band. Probably could have done without the jacket, but wasn't all that miserable. Three deer sightings! Brinkley saw the first one - so that was fartlek number one. He did not see the 2nd one walking accross the road - thank goodness! Then when the 3rd one ran accross the road - off we went again! Luckily these 3 sighting were spaced about a mile apart so I had some recovery time.

5 miles - 9:40 pace - 300 crunches

Biopsy results are in: Basal Cell Carsinoma - the good skin cancer. We will talk about "treatments" i.e. ways to cut it out at my next appointment 12/4.

Mary!!!! The good skin cancer?? Is there such a thing? Explain a little more please cause now I'm all worried! Oh and you totally made me laugh about the guys checking me out. I hadn't even noticed that before so I burst out laughing when i scrolled back up and looked. Ha ha!
Cherrie That recipe does look really good! You DH sounds like such a nice guy. It's so nice knowing that there are couples out there that despite all odds have stuck it out and are still genuinely happy. I think renewing your vows is a wonderful idea!
Sarah There you are! Sheesh! Was wondering where you'd been. Glad you're back and kickin' some arse!
Michelle I meant to say it before and space it out....hope Stella is feeling better and that everything works out ok. If you're meant to go on the trip, you'll go!

Mary.. good for you for getting it re-checked by a dermatologist and not taking your primary doc's word for it. You should be rid of this very very very very treatable and rarely dangerous lesion. Did I mention how common and treatable it is? How did your DH take it?

Jhi, he actually took it quite well - I was afraid he was going to freak out on me - but I kept the conversation light and conveyed that I am not worried.

Melanie - this kind of skin cancer does not spread to the lymph nodes. It is commonly mistaken for psoriasis (spell?) and it is very treatable. Don't worry yourself over me!! I'll be around to run and run and run for a long time.

Ok....I won't freak out then either. If your hubby doesn't, I probably shouldn't either.

Hey all ~~ Mary I'm glad you went to a dermatologist. I think I said before I've had three spots removed, not the biggest deal in the world to go through and well worth it!!!

Jhi You are steps from the finish line!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran 4 miles tonight in 38:43 which means, I think, that my time has returned to the 9:30's or so for real. YAAAAAA oh and no knee pain - I did my stretches when I got home like a good girl teehee!

ok, I have to get settled in for the Biggest Loser. See you tomorrow.....

Hi guys!! Sounds like things are going okay around here. Good job Mary on your race. Wow.

Melanie that's crazy about the wedding chapel. I hope it works itself out.

Poor Michelle my gawd it never ends. I have no good advice for you. I am sympathizing with your daughter since I feel crappy today. I'm actually trying to not ralph on the keyboard so....
this message should be short.

Yup Mom and I are not feeling good today. Something bad in our stomachs. Yuck. Good thing we planned a day to lay low. Yesterday we went and toured the Cape penisula and went up to table mountain. It was really impressive. It isn't very hot here...still waiting for my warm africa but we are right on the atlantic ocean(like a block) and it is a cold one!! I'm still in shorts so that's good.

Okay..sorry gotta run!

Re: a-WEIGH-we-go!!! 29.Oct - 4.Nov
Morning everyone...

I am still in Germany. Stella went to the pediatrician today and she has strep throat. She said yesterday, " mommy are you sad again and is that why you need to go on a big airplane?" I explained everything to the pediatrician and he recommended that perhaps its not the best time for me to leave Stella anyway...So, that is that...I stay.

Becky That really stinks that you are sick! Maybe now is not the time to ask you if you have tried any Bobotie...

Mary I think that is the same type of cancer which I had removed from my leg. I am glad you had the appointment with the dermatologist. How is your facial skin reacting to your new regimen?

Jhi Whew...now you can take one deep breath and relax a little, right? I too haven't been to the gym for ages and I am really looking forward to going. I absolutely HATE paying for it and not using it. So nice to see you posting again.

Michele ARGH! What is HHBF waiting for! Would it jinx things if you bought the dress....just to have already?!

Melanie I think the pictures are nice! Were you alone running this race? There is no one around you!

Cherrie Nice time on your run! I think I have realized that I will always be ssssslllllooooowwww, but hey, I can run and that is all that matters, right?! So what if I average a 10-10:30 mm....

Sarah How's life? Everyone healthy? I am almost afraid to ask...

I am home today! Cannot go anywhere with a sick little one..

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

{{{Stella}}} Michelle I think you made the right decision to stay home with your babies. Stella needs you right now and you probably wouldn't have enjoyed yourself when you were so torn on whether to go or not.

I'm doing good with the new facial "regimine" - although it will take 4-5 weeks to really see a difference as it usually gets a little worse before it gets better. Thanks for asking!

Monnier - I admire your Taebo workouts. How far will you run tonight? Is HHBF training for anything now??

{{Becky}} Hope you and your mom are feeling better soon. Maybe something different that you ate?? Hope you are going to post some photos!!

Cherrie - that is great speed and so good that your knee is better! Wish we could run together!!!! Did you see BL? I really hope Kae wins - she is the heart of the show.

Any Dancing with Star's watchers? I can't believe who they voted off last night!!

4 spook-tacular miles this morning with the winds gusting up to 30 mph out of the south. About a quarter mile is directly into that wind and I was thankful to have Brinkley pulling me along - otherwise I think I'd have been going backwards!
Average 9:30 pace - 300 crunches to top it off.

Our neighbor brought over his little ones last night at my request for trick or treating as they are busy tonight. They were so cute!

Happy Halloween!!

Michelle I'm sorry that you have to miss your trip. Did you have insurance? and Can you reschedule for a time when things have settled a bit more. You will need some time to rejuvenate yourself in this craziness!!!!!! Poor Stella, I hope she feels better soon.

Michele Definately go for a run tomorrow. You have a holiday then, we have one on Monday. Veteran's Day. I don't know if it is national or one of those state holidays but either way - I'm off.

Becky I hope that you and your Mom are not sick for long -

ok, as for me, I'll do another run tonight and then instead of dinner at my house my sister is cooking a chicken stir fry. So, depending on when I actually get to start my run I'll either do a 4 mile loop around my house or stretch it out so that I end at her house and have DH bring me a change of clothes. We'll see.
