I discovered the ipod!
Okay, so I have resisted it all these years, did all of my marathon training w/o ipod or music of any kind. No one could understand how I could train w/o music. I always told them that music annoyed me while running, which it usually did. So for my 40th birthday my bff gives me an ipod. I didn't have the heart to tell her I really didnt' want one, and it was so cute and little and she had already downloaded some songs on it so I decided to give it a try. Her 14 year old daughter had to teach me how to use it. Something happened to me and technology when I hit 39.
OH MY GOD! HOW did I get through marathon training without this device??? I did 5 miles yesterday and I felt like I was floating! I had a blast...it was like a little party all by myself. I caught myself skipping at one point (I thought about Long Run Nick and his skipping advice and knew he would be proud!), and then one time my arms were in the air and I was twirling like Julie Andrews in Sound of Music. WHen I hit 5 miles I didn't want it to be over.
It was great getting to enjoy my cd's again...I had not listened to them in years! So, now I know what the buzz is all about. How fun was THAT? what a great run.
