Ditto on thanks for the welcome! I didn't run today - did some strength training. I finally found a pair of pants I like for running - just in time too because we had some snow this morning! Brrrr!

Hi Orange and Diva! Yep, this is a place for newbie or relative newbie (or once-again newbie) runners. You'll find that we have a lot of fun and provide a lot of support.

I got some neon lights for my nighttime bicycle commuting, now only the most out-of-it driver (always a possibility around here) can fail to see me!

Our local half marathon is this weekend, I'm not doing it this year, but it passes close by the house plus it attracts a lot of new runners so I plan to go out and cheer folks on. Next year the organizers plan to have a full marathon, I'm not sure how well that will go, unfortunately. How is Fresno gonna compete with say, Big Sur or San Diego??

Hi Arla, yup, that's me, the once-again newbie runner. Hopefully I'll get enough support and advice here to keep me off the treadmill and running outside as long as possible into the winter. I think that's the biggest factor keeping me from staying commited to my schedule of three days a week. Also, if I teach in the mornings (yoga), I find it hard to go out to the park and run afterwards, though I have no clue why. Well, that's my plan for today, in spite of the rain and snow showers in the forecast. Wish me luck!

Morning all,

Brought my running clothes to work with me yesterday and did 3 miles over at the sancuary afterwards. The weather has finally dipped into the 70's during the afternoons so I should be able to get in some more mileage soon. It was a slow go at about an 11:30 pace. Still slightly congested, runny nose and tight chest but much better than how I felt last week.

I even took some pics yesterday of the sancuary. Will post some later today.

This morning was a cool and crisp 60ish morning so I ventured out around the neighborhood and did 5 miles right at a perfect 11:00 minute pace. Actually felt better than the 3 I did yesterday at the 11:30 pace. WTH!

A big welcome to the new folks, we love reading what you have to share!

Have a great Sat. everyone.......Jewels

Leslie - I stopped at work today and found 3 covers for fax transmissions, but no content. Don't know what's going on, so just fuggedaboutit.
