I ran my first half marathon!!!!

I simply must tell you all that I finished my first HM this morning....and I feel like champion of the universe. My time was 2:08 something. My goal was to finish but I secretly hoped to get under 2:11!

Wow, Wow. I don't know if I will do another anytime soon, but I feel sure I will be doing another.

Way to go! It's a good feeing to meet both your goals in your first race, I'll bet. Time for some new, more aggressive goals...

Way to go! How long did you train before you tackled the half-marathon? Was it a goal or a progression? Either way, congratulations!

Thanks all for the congrats. It was here in Shreveport LA, the YMCA HM. A small gathering, maybe 100 folks ran it. Absolutely perfect for a first half. And I agree, my time was good for a first ,40 year old, female who was smoking just 2 years ago.

Thanks again to all. And I'm so glad I found this board a few weeks ago.

Keep on runnin'

Great job, I also ran a 1/2 in 2:08 in Oct. I am a 41 year old female. To bad we don't live close, I could use a running partner for my next 1/2. Great job.
