Way to go Joe!!!! Congrads on finishing with an ankle problem.

Take a few days off relax and enjoy the glow of finishing.

Chuck you are on task of getting this started for the week. Hopefully the cold is nearing the end.

Way to go Joe, that is aversome!!

Good run Laurel 7.8 is fantastic. What has been the issue with the knee?

Peg it is good to hear you are on your way back.

Cara congrats on the week and the long run.

Alex sounds like the same cold as Chuck. Hopefully you can contain it.

My 5k with my daughter didn't happen as she picked up a cold as well. Thus no run for me as I went to the gym and rode the bike as I had run 5 days in a row. Tomorrow should be in the 50's so I hope to get a long run in. 32 miles last week.

Good luck all.

Joe - Congrats on your race and great time!

I've just been told of a ladies only 10K that is taking place on 1st December - a flat run along the beach (well along the road at the top seeing as it's a pebble beach). Am thinking I will go for it and see how my time looks before deciding on my Feb 10K. I'm excited already!!!

3.5 for me tonight

Happy running all!

hey chuck
thinking of you today. hope you can find peace and calm your nerves. i know lots who have made it through and come out the other side doing well. still, it is a sad time. cant imagine what you are going through. feel free to 'vent' any time! i am always listening... keep on running, when you can. that always helps my stress level go down.
try to have a good day!

Congratulations Joe. Great race! I'm sorry to hear about your ankle. The Garmin data is impressive. I just got one last week, looks like I'll have to do some investigating to see how to get all that info out of mine.

Chuck, I'm really sorry to hear about your difficulties this weekend. I know it's tough now, but try to keep your spirits up, believe it or not it will get better. As MissWendy said, feel free to vent when you want.

Glad to see everyone getting their runs in. I went for 7-1/2 miles (90 min) run yesterday afternoon. Today I've got an off day. I think I'll go to the running store though and find out what's going on with my shoes. I'm only getting about 100+ miles out of a pair of shoes and my joints start aching. My knees feel terrible today and going downstairs is really a challenge.

Alex, I hope your theory on injuries works for me. I hate taking it this easy ? but I know it?s what I have to do.

Joe ? woo hoo! Great race report! How?s the ankle? Your Cowboys pulled out another win. They?ve got the same record as my Packers. It?ll be interesting to see them play each other later in the season. I think Romo plays like a young Favre. He?s fun to watch.

Cara ? your 7 miler was great ? super fast! I will never be that fast, I fear. I just hope this hip thing goes away soon and I can get back to the distance goals I have.

Chuck ? I?m sorry to hear about your troubles. Running will help deal with the stress of a separation? Hope you?re feeling great soon!

Laurel ? what a great run! How?s the knee feeling? I bought some Ben Gay and have never used it before. Put it on my hip last night and thought I would DIE. That stuff burns like CRAZY!!! My DH says I?ll get used to it, but I?m not so sure? Yowza.

Kevin, hope you find a good pair of shoes! They can make all the difference.

I?ve got a slow, easy 3 scheduled for tonight. But my hip is bugging me again, so I?ll be playing it by ear. If I can?t run the 3, I?ll at least walk it.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Congratulations Joe!!! How's the ankle feeling now?

Chuck - life sucks sometimes - get out and run if you can - i know that running does wonders for me when i'm feeling blue.

I'm working on training for a half-marathon. Saturday I did my longest run so far - 8 miles. I still have a long way to go before I'm ready - I really need to improve my speed because I'm only running between 4 and 5 mph hour on the average depending on the incline involved in the run.

Hi Kathy Wing, and welcome!

Chuck, thanks for starting us off this week. Very sorry to hear of your problems, I'm sorry that's not much consolation.

Solid effort, Joe, with the training problems (and race problems) you had that's a nice reward for your perseverance! Well done!

Laurel, good run, sounds like a lot of work for a bad knee. Mind you don't make things worse. (You are the best at remembering everyone!)

Cara, sounds like you are English, I was born in Leicester, though I grew up in Zimbabwe, my son is a footballer, we watch the Premiership matches every weekend. Man. City and pompy was a good match on Sunday. Where is the run along a pebble beach-I remember Lyme Regis being a pebble beach but I suppose there are lots of them.

I have started a half clinic a week ago training for spring, but I am doing extra miles, it sounds so much more impressive in kilometers, I did 20.3 on Saturday in 1:58, 7 on Sunday in 42:20. In miles thats about 12.7 and 4.4 miles.
Simon.

Joe, hope the ankle is feeling better. How did the Garmin do as far as distance? Were you able to get a signal the entire race?

Chuck, sorry to hear of your problems. Run lots...vent here.

monnik, GO PACKERS!!!

Simon, think I will start recording my runs in kms because you're right it sounds/looks much more impressive.

KathyWing, your time sounds good to me. Not everyone on this site is speedy. We just do what we can.

Hope no one minds that I continue to post even though I do not have a half marathon goal race picked out. Since February is out due to DH's work, I do not know what the spring holds for me as far as any half marathons. Plus, now I am in a real limbo as far as training. Don't know what to do. Any advice???
