Re: Half marathon trainers week of Nov 10th
80 even if it's humid sounds more pleasant than light rain, high winds, clouds and temps in the 40's. In other words, I went to the gym tonight.
Welcome, slavetodogs. Since you and I probably share the same birth year, I would agree that a couple of extra weeks helped me get ready to run the 13.1 distance. I used a 16 week schedule.
Stan, my question regarding how to plan out my runs was in reference to a training schedule. With out a goal in site, I am not real sure what I should be doing each week. My goal is to maintain my running fitness, possible work on speed, and incorporate some upper body weights. Then after Christmas to pick out a half marathon in the spring and hopefully be race ready in about 12 weeks instead of 16 it has taken me in the past. I am hoping that I can accomplish this with 20 miles running each week. I want to continue to do a longish run outside on the weekends as long as the weather permits. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
