Ipod and Nike

I apologise if this topic has been done to death, I can't find how to search on this forum (anybody point me in the right direction?)

Interested in some feedback on the Nike and Ipod Nano combination, and the website where you can download workouts and upload your runs and do challenges. I've heard mixed reports, and since my cheapie mp3 player is dying, it may be an option for when I have to upgrade.

Thanks

I really love mine. You don't have to buy the Nike shoes if you don't want to either. You just order a Nike plus shoe pouch online. Just google it and you will get different options as to where to purchase the pouch.

It is really great, because it gives you the distance you have traveled and your pace. At the end, you can also find out how many calories you burned. At www.nike.com[/URL" target="_blank"> you can find the site for the NIke plus. Mine has been fairly accurate with distance and that seems to be the problem that lot of people have with it. I think it really makes a difference how steady you are when you calibrate it. I do find that when I go faster, it's not quite as accurate. It was off about 250 meters at my last 5K race but I always run faster in races, then on my daily runs.

Too bad this only works with the Nano. Why have they limited themselves so?

I love mine.

You wouldn't want a hard drive based mp3 player for running anyway... the shock could make it skip.

It won't work with the shuffle because it is programmed to use the center buttons to stop start the workout, plus the Nike system records which playlist you were using on your run.
