I've heard you aren't supposed to excercise too close to bed time. Perhaps you just need to change your workout schedule and run in the mornings?

Unless you are talking about being seriously overcharged for a long time after running, or your heart rate doesnt slow down or something. Then I'd say...see your doctor.

Re: advise please
Exercise is suppose to energize you. It gets your endorphins up and running, stimulates your metabolism, which is why many professionals (doctors, trainers, etc.) recommend exercising first thing in the morning. If you exercise too close to your bed time, it's no surprise that you are unable to sleep.

If you're not having health-related issues, you may want to consider changing your exercise time to either morning or earlier in the evening, at 3-4 hours before your bed time.

Are you running just before bed time? That's probably not a good idea.

I usually run as soon as I get home in the afternoon. I often have to force myself out the door as my energy level is way down by that time of day, but after the run I feel great both mentally and physically and it makes the rest of the evening much better. And since it's still a number of hours before bedtime, I'm fully wound down and fall asleep easily when bedtime rolls around.
