December Goals

Lots of new posters to this thread last month. Let's see if it's a helpful tool to keep you on task!

My goals for December:

1) 60 miles.

That's it.

How about you?

To Add an additional day of running per week without injury

In Week2 of OHR, and would love to break past running 3 miles 3 times a week..... Don't know if it's possible at this stage, but I would really love to add on some mileage...

Oh Yeah, and to survive the Holidays with all the tempting high calorie foods!

Came within 1 mile of my November goal (100 miles). Somehow it doesn't sound as good if I say I missed my goal by a mile

Same goal for December. 20 miles minimum each week. 100 total for the month.

-Drop 8 pounds
-build to 40mpw
-give support to my friend working on C25K (he hated running but I showed him the program and that he didn't have to run super hard and he actually seems to be enjoying it)

Worked last month, so doing it again. Unfortunately Im really sick right now (which means no running, so Im not happy) but I have more goals:

1) Start feeling better
2) Keep minimum of 20 mpw
3) Continue my running even when in Germany for vacation
4) Do more long runs of 10+ miles (only done 1 so far)
5) Start either marathon or half marathon training
6) Continue to enjoy running so it will always be a part of my life (most important goal)

Good luck everyone and an early happy holidays!

1. Continue running outdoors regardless of the weather (barring blizzards and thunderstorms, of course)
2. Not be so wordy in my posts
3. Enjoy running!

Here are mine:

- to start c25K again (did it in April - June and then fell off the wagon)

- lose 3 lbs (well, it is Christmastime and all!)

- make it to the gym 3x per week

Ok, gonna try again as injury (to the head) kept me from getting in resonable work towards my November Goals. Assuming the doc clears me on the 5th:

1) Run 5K minumum on Tue/Thur/Sun every week

2) Buy that cool stretching book I've been eying and use it (by the way, any suggestions?)

3) Get that sunday run up to 8k

4) Run one 2-mile benchmark run in 19:00 (I want to take 1 minute off a month but will settle for 30 seconds)

5) Dropping 5 lbs

6) Save towards a Garmin 305 (I'm really loving my 201 right noe but jeez! Bulking and crappy reception!).

The best stretching book by far is Anatomy of Stretching by Brad Walker. I actually like it better than Bob Anderson's stretching book, which was the gold standard for years.

Let's hope December is better health wise, than November was:

1) Lose 4 pounds (It's the holiday season, so I'm scaling back expectations.

2) Start walking every day. I'm starting at just over 1 mile. I'd like to be up to 3 by the end of the month.

3) Start adding some running intervals in 2 weeks

4) Start my rehab exercises and stick with them!

Wow, it's December already?!?! Alright, here goes:

~Continue marathon training with no excuses
~Use ONLY cash for Christmas presents (not running related but important nonetheless)
~Make friends with the cold weather (below 60 is cold to me)

That's about it for the month. It's just busy with the holidays so I want to set realistic goals. Enjoy your holidays everyone! See you again in January!

1. Get out the door and just do it! I need to start running again, even if it means starting from zero and hitting the C25k for round 2...it's better than sitting around feeling sorry for myself!!!

2. Stop sitting around feeling sorry for myself.

3. Portion control, portion control, portion control. I'll work on the quality of the food a little later, I just need to avoid bringing unending snacks to the couch darnit!

4. Smile, enjoy Christmas time and the beautiful Arizona winter, and maybe go for a 30 minute run (or run/walk) on christmas morning!
