Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
Rest day for me today. Just a little cross-training at the local mall. I think they call it Christmas shopping.

LSD tomorrow...distance will depend on the weather. Am hoping to get outside for 6 miles.

Everyone enjoy your weekend and run safe.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
hi all, got a quick 5 mile in tonight with DD. It was a great run, which is anytime I get to run with DD.

macd: that is awesome that your DD's took to running. I would bet it is easy to run when you think of them. More snow on the way for us as well. take care!

Joe: awesome picture, I still can't wear them.

Meg: At least you have something to look forward to at the gym.

Misswendy: I hope you get your eye candy wish.

wbertha: hope you get your run in this weekend!

take care everyone!!!!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
A rainy day here in So. Calif., so I did a 5.5 mile treadmill run.

Itunes has some Nike Sports Music Albums for running - I have Kara Goucher's Endurance Boost and Treadmill Training: Hill Repeats 1 loaded on my Ipod Shuffle now - I went through them both today on the treadmill.

I found some these free training audio downloads that Powerbar has on their site with Chirs Carmichael and Lance Armstrong:

I'm going one of them a try next run.

Kathy

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
hi all, got a nice run in today. 8.06 miles at 9:08 pace. It was 10 degrees but low wind and the sun was out, it was beautiful. We are supposed to get on and off snow through mid-week.

kathywing: thanks for the link, I have downloaded them and will try to incorporate the tempo run. Warm rain would feel good to us in Wisconsin.

Chuck: nice run and fast!!

Joe: hope your 10 miler works out today.

go miss wendy!!!!!

wbertha: how is the weather?

take care all, I need to stretch out. keep pushing!!!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
Ended up on the treadmill AGAIN today. 15 degrees with a light wind and no sun is just too cold for me to run outside. I admire those of you who are able to be out in such weather. My LSD ended up being 6 miles on the treadmill. Hope we get a nice weekend soon because I don't know if my sanity will last for more than 6 miles inside.

Also, started to run this morning and turned on my shuffle (hey, I needed something to keep my brain from turning to mush) and all I hear was crackle, crackle, silence. Messed around with the wires and finally got to hear music in one ear. Needless to say, I stopped at Target and invested my $12 in some new head phones and hopefully my sanity. lol

Actually, the 6 miles didn't feel too bad on my legs. I set the pace a little slower than I had been running most of the week. The only problem of course is that the time passes so slowly for me on the treadmill.

GO, MISS WENDY!!!! We are anxiously waiting for your report.

Has anyone of you ever run the Avenue of the Giants half marathon in May????

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
hey yall

well, i did it! i have to say, i was a bit disappointed in my time, but we will blame the 98% humidity and mid 60's temps. i could barely make it past 11 M. it was absolute torture! i was soaked to the bones with sweat. anyway, i still got to the end, 10:55 pace, more slowly than i had hoped. the course was great, and it was a pretty small group of runners. the only eye candy there was my husband! my age group won in 1:40 something. now, on to the next one! hoping to schedule the mississippi blues hm on jan 5. lots of friends will be there. its hilly, but maybe the weather will cooperate. anyway, time for a little r&r.

hope i post these pics correctly....

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of December 2nd
Congratulations Misswendy. When I do my half marathon in the summer I am hoping to finish before they close the course. You did great. I cant do 5k at that speed and you managed a whole 20k at that pace.
I am almost finished week 5 of HM training program. Did four miles today. Hope to do 6M tomorrow. Had to postpone yesterday's run to today as work interfered yesterday. Hope snow doesn't prevent me from running tomorrow. The ice today was bad enough but snow over ice is scary. Good running everyone.
