C25K Week Three, anyone?

I'm here to get back into running. Old, fat, and slow--but EXCITED to be doing this!

Finished Week 2 yesterday, start Wk 3 tomorrow. Anyone else there to cyber-run (or in my case, slog--slowjog) with?

I'm in! I bought a new pair of running shoes this weekend and am itching to break them in on Week 3.

Run strong everyone.

W3D1 is tomorrow for me. Sadly, I found week 2 harder than I expected, but I'll give week 3 a shot...

Wonderful! I'm running W3D1 tonight after work--actually dreamed about it last night!

quagga--did you get fitted for shoes or (like I did) just try enough on to pick some that felt right?

Has anyone actually picked a 5K to run after this program?

I have not picked a 5k run, since this is my second time around. The first time, I had picked a 5k to run and I found it so hard (I had to walk a LOT), I was so demoralized, I quit running for almost 2 months and now I'm starting over. So, this time, I want to get a couple more months of running in after completing the program before I try again.

I'm on week 3 too...last week wasn't bad and I'm looking forward to
adding time this week. I love having a specific schedule to follow, I
think it will help me stay with it.

Have a great week everyone!

Sorry about the small detour from running, York; glad you are back. I'm looking at some races, have not registered yet. Think I'll wait until after the New Year and see how I'm doing.

I just started week 4. I started running for losing weight and to get a bit fitter. I am not aiming to do any 5 k's yet. Best to enjoy it first and get to the end of the programme in one piece.

I'm starting W3 tomorrow; can't wait!

I have picked a 5K to run when I finish the program. It will be one week after I "graduate." I'm not going to put any pressure at all on myself, though. I just want to run it and finish it and try out the experience. I'm doing it for fun, not for performance.

Start week 3 tomorrow, too. I was fitted for shoes today but left the store without them because I felt too guilty buying something expensive for myself this close to Christmas. I may go back for them tomorrow and tell my husband that they are his gift to me...= ) Wow, did those sneakers feel amazing in the store. Can't wait to try them out. I have a very flat foot and I could not believe the support they gave me.

Not sure if the weather is going to cooperate with me tomorrow, but I am running anyways. It is freezing, windy and rainy/snowy right now, ugh.

York: if you are not feeling that great about week 2, you can always repeat it. Don't try to do too much and burn out. There is no rule that says you absolutely have to go week to week. But you may surprise yourself and be fine during week 3.

Looking forward to week 3 and I am so happy there are more of you out there. I was getting worried that I lost all the people from week 1 when I started! Happy running!

Did W3D1 this morning. WOOHOO! I was nervous about the 3 minute runs, but they turned out to be totally doable. I really surprised myself today with how much I can do now. It was cold and windy and my lungs hurt from breathing the cold air but I was so happy. YAY!

Don't know how I'm going to wait until Thurs. to run again. I will wait, because I don't want to get hurt, but it will be hard. I think I am getting addicted!

I completed W3D1 today and I too was surprised that I was able to complete it as easily as I did. The first three minutes were a bit tough, but the second three minutes were much easier.

So glad a week 3 thread was started- thank you, lizard!

I did W3D1 last night. Went pretty well. I am back after a long illness and figured C25K was the best way to begin again.

I don't have a 5K picked out. Not sure if I want to get back into doing that kind of thing yet.

Good luck to everyone!
