Hi all, we got another dusting of snow and more to come tonight. This maybe a gym day, I could use some time on the bike.

joe: What is the Steve Runner podcasts? I remember you posting a link a while back. Do they last your entire run? Are they topic based?

Hope everyone gets their shopping done and their exercises in.

Good morning gang, hope weather gods are treating everyone favorably these days. Right not it is 34 F with a heavy mist out and I am scheduled for 10 today.
Yesterday I ran a 5K benefit run in Odessa. The (first time) race director is on the local University cross country team (I work with his father). The director and his twin brother are planning on doing the relay at the 3M half in Austin. They are thinking they can break the record there.
Anyway, the weather was great 50 F and NO wind. I ran along side a young lady that is the Dean of Students at that local university. It was great talking and running with her, only to find out that her longest run before this race was 20 min! She finished in 32:53. I was so proud for her.

I have been having some knee issues after runs. No pain during the runs once I get warmed up but after I am having to ice, alleve, and rest. I am going to attempt 10 today (no pain this morning) and make a decision about what to do next. I am thinking a week of rest for the knees might be a good thing now. My HM is 6 weeks away. HELP!

Misswendy- great race, great pics, congrats! Already planning another in January, good for you!

Joe- good job on 10. Sounds like you have a busy schedule for this week.

Runjr- I recommend one of the Steve Runner podcasts that he does while running a recent marathon (Boston, Baystate, Philly). I really enjoy his shows.

Hope everyone has a good week of running.

I am going to download a Steve runner podcast and give it a go.

Joe: watching football today? Thanks again for the links.

Stan: is the knee issue both knees or one?

take care.

YAY MISSWENDY!!! Way to go - you and your daughter look SO much alike! Didn't you say she was a 2nd grader? I have one of those too!

KEVEE - I have 3 girls too - ages 7-1.2, 5-1/2 and 2!

JOE - HOLA! I've missed you guys.

Was a week without much running again - ran 4M today - YUCKY, YUCKY, YUCKY running weather here (I'm always complaining about weather - I apologize - either less humidity or a cooler temps would be nice - of course there is NO WAY I'd be out running in snow like some of you brave folks!) It's 83 degrees here with almost 70% humidity here - ICK!

So, if weather is like this in Houston in Dec. - may be same in early April in Dallas. UGGH! What to do? Anyone running anywhere cooler in March/April? Perhaps I'll join you!

Happy Day - Laurel

Well I got in 10. Very nice easy run with plenty of walk breaks. Knee issues aren't as severe as expected. 33 F with 10 mph wind from the NE. I felt strong throughout the run. Rest tomorrow.

Joe- I ran yesterday just as support for the race director, NOT hard.

runjr- mostly my right knee, although I have been treating them both.

I finally got my name on the map and downloaded some runs into MB

Joe and Miss Wendy--great pics. and GREAT JOB miss wendy--look at them calves--you go girl.

To everyone else-- hope u all are doing ok. We have a emergency meeting at work tomorrow so spice geek I know where your coming from. Hope it to bad.

hi all, strange day as I ran twice. 4.1 by myself at a 8:39 pace and when DD and DW got home from shopping they wanted to run and I will always run with them, thus another 4 miler We ran on less busy roads as the snow from last night was messy.

Laurel: Wisconsin will not be humid in either April or May, but it still can get cold especially in April. Kevee is already in the Green Bay HM. DW and I may be in that one as well.

Joe: you had two great wins in Texas today. Green Bay won and it was the frozen tundra.

Stan: Maybe it is time to get it checked? Maybe back off a little this week and see what happens. Any changes in equipment? The proper shoes and stretching has helped me quite a bit.

Take care all.

hey everyone, got me a nice head cold but I still ran my 6 miles tonight. 75 today, waited to 5 to run so wasn't to humid.

Stan, Congrats on the 10 miler. Hope the knee gets better.

runjr, I don't see how ya do it on a dread mill, I would die. I did 3 miles on mine and I've never got on it again.

Joe, Hows it going? I'm going for 8 this weekend. Whens your next HM?

Misswendy, congrats again on the race.

Laurel, I know what ya mean about the weather. It's tough on the long runs being so humid.

Peg I hope you're doing good. Haven't heard from you in awhile.

Stan, I read in runner's world last month I think that over stridding can cause knee pain. Just a thought.
