nutrisystem

Hello-

I just wanted some information about the nutrisystem plan. I am only looking to lose 5-7 pounds, but it would be nice to have healthy quick meals. It also seems fairly cheap. I added up the calories and if I am understanding correctly its only 600 calories a day. Which doesnt seem right. If you are really supposed to only eat their stuff I would eat double that at least.

Re: nutrisystem
You may want to check out nutrisystem.com, or speak with one of their representatives concerning their dietary requirements. All I know of their plan is that all of their food is pre-packaged, and you are able to eat chocolate every day.

Whatever that's worth.

Re: nutrisystem
I have two male friends that just started this program on Sunday. I don't know much about it but they don't like the food. Also, it seems to me if you eat 600 calories a day then it's a no brainer that you'll lose weight. But like I said I don't know much other than it's expensive and apparently the food is not very good.

Nothing to add.

Just refreshing to see someone say they want to LOSE weight.
Not "loose" it.

Carry on.

Re: nutrisystem
I've done Nutrisystem, and the average calories per day for women is 1200. They have you add in your own dairy, protien, fruits, and veggies.

The food is okay- it took a few months, but I narrowed down the foods that I like- which is most of the Italian stuff. Some of it is actually GOOD.

Does it work? Well, it's helped me lose about 25 lbs, but I wanted to lose at least 50. I think it works best for people who severely overeat and who do not exercise. For the past year and 7 months, I've been working out between 7-12 times per week- working out on my lunch break, and then doing martial arts in the evenings. My weight loss on NS was a LOT slower than most. It's good because it gives you a set meal portion (minus the add in's- which they are pretty clear about what you should/should not have). It is sort of hard to stick with- the food gets a little boring- and it's hard if you are in social situations. But to lose less than 10 lbs, it might be worth it. Let me know if you have any specific questions!
