I've found the info on this site pretty helpful but after this I don't think I want to be part of it anymore.

And I'm a Mummy not a "Mommy". Us Brit's invented the language! If my post was considered impolite perhaps you should re-read your own! Judgmental and scathing to a relative stranger trying to be helpful.

No - I think you'll find the language was invented, if at all, by a few Germanic tribes living in Denmark. If they hadn't invaded you, you'd be speaking Welsh. Or perhaps, you do, with a name like "rhian", in which case Croeso!

You've never posted on this site, apart from in this one thread - and that matches the behavior of a number of other covert advertisers. If you aren't one, then please understand that we're working on the "duck" principle here.

Not all the posters on this site live in the US, but I'm sure if you look in The Neighborhood[/URL" target="_blank">, you'll see how many do. On the first page, there isn't currently a single thread on anywhere outside North America.

For the purposes of the vast majority of people who come here,
www.fitday.com[/URL" target="_blank"> and www.sparkpeople.com[/URL" target="_blank"> are more useful sites, and they have the further advantage of being free.

As I suspected, our "mummy" is really male! The writing style gives it away. I threw the first post through this analyzer and sure enough, our "mummy"'s toting a little something extra!

Man, those British will sell anything to anybody!

quote:<HR>3-Year-Old Boy Buys Pink Nissan on eBay
By Associated Press

LONDON - Three-year-old Jack Neal loves cars: so much so, that while his mother's back was turned he bought a Barbie-pink Nissan Figaro for nearly $16,000 on eBay.

"I had just come off the computer and I thought I had logged off, I came out of eBay," his mother Rachel told the British Broadcasting Corp. on Monday.

"Jack jumped on the chair, (went) straight in, found the page and bought the car." Unable to read, the youngster likely used the "buy it now" option to make the purchase.

The first time the Neals, from Sleaford in eastern England, knew of the sale was when they received an e-mail from auto dealer David Jones, who thought he had made his first Internet sale.

"I've got a 2 1/2-year-old son myself and I don't think he would be able to do this, although he's bright," he said.

Jack denied all culpability.

Asked if he had made the purchase, he simply squirmed and muttered, "No..."<HR>

Yeah, yeah, yeah ...

quote:<HR>Jones, from Worcestershire in central England, saw the funny side and said he will not hold the Neals to their purchase. The car will be re-listed later.<HR>

Well, it IS kinda cute ...

Oh, yeah ... if you're obsessed about such things, a food diray would be good.

But then, that might mean you have an eating disorder and ...

An interesting thing about this dynamic, and how this type of poster/advertiser works, is that they don't care whether one person accuses them of profit motive.

What they're aiming for are the lurkers, the people who read the poster's response (usually one of hurt feelings and defensiveness) and identify in some way with the poster, and feel that whoever called him/her/it on it was unfair, and that people should be treated as innocent until proven guilty. Those are the people who might drop by the website....I mean, unlikely in this instance, since UK calorie counters are useless to most of us, but it's just interesting to observe how this works, how it preys on people.

Another thing, completely off the point, is these people are out of their freaking minds if they think this is worth paying for. I mean, if you want to buy some software from Calorie King or Fitday or whatnot, because you don't mind spending the money and they give you the professionally designed software to sit on your desktop, fine, but there are plenty of places on the web that tell you how many calories you should eat, and how many calories are in everything from eight ounces of Kale to a Quarter Pounder, and it isn't necessary to buy anything if you don't want to. Although sometimes spending a little money is a motivating thing in itself.

For some reason, this whole thing really gets my goat. If I had a goat.

Quite the philatelist, ... I mean philanthropist, ... or maybe philodendron.
