I used to drink a TON of diet pepsi. When I was told back in Feb that I probably have fibromyalgia, I stopped all artificial sweeteners which can possibly cause flare-ups. I didn't get any pain relief but was surprised to notice that all of my lifelong icky intestinal problems disappeared. It actually took me a while to make the connection because I wasn't looking for it. But now, 9 months later my stomach is still doing great! Giving up the diet soda and other artificially sweetened products was completely worth it for me...I seriously have a much better quality of life now.

Oh it must be really cool stuff .Just toss some mentos into a large bottle and the chemical reaction will result in the coke shooting out of the bottle 15 feet into the air . So what happens if you eat mentos and wash them down with a can of coke ?

I think in order to have the explosion capability it must be diet coke and not diet pepsi.Hey talk about having a marketing advantage !!

I think it's time to put this tired old thread topic up there with running Boston as a bandit, low-carb dieting, Gallowalking, and men wearing tights...

I used to drink a lot of Jolt Cola and Mt. Dew. Had to stop that because I was drinking way too many calories.

Switched to JoltGum. Many less calories, same caffeine buzz.

Tried Diet Mt. Dew. Cheaper than bottled water and Jolt Gum. Loved the 0 carlorie part. Oddly, felt like it filled me up. Drank 2-3 per night. No adverse effects until I ran out (caffeine withdrawal headache for a couple nights).

I only drink soda or chew caffeine gum at night (i.e. after dinner). I don't like or drink coffee. I don't need caffieine in the morning. I wake up feeling fresh. But I like to stay up late 2-3am and wake up around 7am. I have no problem falling asleep even after consuming a lot of caffeine.

Right now I'm off all caffeine (not intentional). Ran out of Diet Mt. Dew and started thinking I'm not too comfortable with aspartame. Find myself falling asleep earlier and not feeling as energenic at night.

Hey MM all most hilarious . You must have fun doing some of the "Mr. Wizard" ( used to have a T.V. experiment science show years ago ) stuff at work . So, in addition to the diet coke guess I add Mentos to the why bother list.
