I lost one pound this week, a little slower than previous weeks but a loss regardless. I am well on my way to the Broad Street Run in Philly in May. I may be one of the fatter runners there but i will be able to finish it.

26 (F) 140 (-2)
I am back down 2 pounds. I have added a cycling class to my weekly routine and I think it has helped. I weighed before the Superbowl (for good reason) so I know I need to step it up again this week!
Jen,
Thanks for the other training schedule, I like having more than 1 day off, my joints can't take running everyday!
Good luck to everyone this week!!

Hello all.
starting weight 142.
I am still at 137. so maintaining. -5 all together.

I weight lifted today. The past week was the last week of track practice for my girls. That will give me more time to exercise. I do like the way my clothes are fitting though!

37/M/191/-3 lost 3 pounds over the last week.

This week I concentrated on eating better. I prepared a better soup and froze them, eating them during the days every ~3 hours. I still ate out on 3 occassions (but used good sense). This week I intentionally did not make a workout plan, concentrating on diet instead. It was extremely cold, a couple days were 10 degrees or less so I didn't run nearly as much as normal, but saw good weight loss progress. I fell the diet is much more important than exercise (at my fitness and activity level).

Next week, I plan to stick with the mostly soup diet (spinich, colliflower, brocolli, beans, whole wheat pasta, salmon, lentils, tomatoes, carrots, spices, etc.) I eat 1 cup servings. My daily caloric intake went down to about 1700 (goal was 1500) average per day.

Best wishes to everyone else that is sticking with this.

Lost another 2 pounds this week which was somewhat surprising after I ate too many snacks at my 13 year old's birthday party. I increased my run to 15 miles last week, the most in a while.

I need to lay off pizza Fridays and create a new ritual on Friday. When I am lighter by 50 pounds, then I can go back to pizza Fridays.

Checking in for the week. An lower leg injury kept me to one day of running last week, unfortunately.

12-Feb-07: M / 6'2" / 33 / 222(start) 210(today) / -1lb last week / -12lbs total

Weekly Training:
- Running - 1 day - 9 miles
- Cycling - 1 day - 40 miles

This week is tapering and rest for a 50k ultramarathon this weekend. Between carbo loading and tapering, I'll probably hold even or gain a couple pounds. Back on the program next week though.

Keep up the good work...
- Chris

Hey all!

F/31/5'4/ beginning 142

Now 136 -1 this week. -6 all together.

My runner's knee is completely gone so I am back to running 5-6 day's a week and weight training once. I run just over 20 miles last week. I did 8.3 this Sun.

Cgerber GL!! in your Ultra! wow, that is impressive... I don't know if I could wrap my mind about running that long.

Cassi: be careful with the weight classes at this point. If you are lifting and adding muscle, muscle weighs more than fat. Technically you could be changing your body composition and getting smaller in size while weighing the same or more. Muscle burns more calories too.

Still at -3. Eating great. This sucky weather the last two weeks has limited my exercising. How some people are able to run in - windchill amazes me. And now we have 15" of snow! I need to get past my mental block about this!

I started out this challenge and then never made it past week 1. After a knee/ foot injury 2 trips to an orthopedic MD and an MRI I am ready to try again. I will definitely keep reading the posts as they have kept me inspired. Great job everyone!
