I'm only in my second week of the C25K program, and I'm only on my third month of weight watchers (about 25 lbs to lose, not hugely obese but still too heavy) so you have no reason to pay attention to my post, but it seems to me that this dorito-eating woman should be regarded the same way I would hope you regard your running - with humility, grace and compassion. Certainly you cut yourself some slack when you have a bad run...perhaps for her 3 bags of doritos is cutting down. Regardless, her choices have nothing to do with you or how you live your life, and she deserves nothing but your compassion. Be thankful her struggle is not your own. there but for the grace of God go I, or something like that.
And of course the obesity epidemic needs to be dealt with - I work in health care and I see its frightening effects everywhere. But I see posts like this often on this website, and ALL the time on the weight watchers community boards, and I still don't understand how much hatred and distaste can be directed towards the obese, or even heavy. I mean, so much time, wasted, worrying about what other people eat, instead of running or reading a book or something? Or posting something kinder, here? Why?
