"You eat too much..."

"You are eating every break... I only have 2 meals a day, that's how I stay thin."

Hrm, even if you are thinner (and, don't kid yourself, girl, not by much) I'm fairly sure I'm healthier.

My meals she saw, that I eat every two hours. Example day:

1 apple and 1 light yogurt
1 small salad (no dressing), 10 strawberries
1 banana and (1 fat-free pudding or 1 cup squash, depending on how tired I am)
Water with all of 'em.

Meals I've seen her eat
2 cheeseburgers, Pepsi
1 Chick Fil A sandwich, 1 medium fries, 1 large soda

Also, she admits that she can't even run half a mile. I exercise an hour a day-- and thats cut down from what it was before, now that I'm working 40-60 hours a week and going to school

I wish people would mind their own business. I didn't complain about my weight to you. You don't know my individual issues. I don't need your help.

Yeah, I don't quite understand why people feel the need to comment on my diet, either. I've never once asked someone, "So, what do you think of how I eat?" Nor have I ever told anyone except DH what I think of their food choices.

And yet people on this board comment on what "fat" people eat all the time. Think about that next time you get ticked that someone commented on your diet.

Re: "You eat too much..."
I eat like my kids do - which is like you - pretty much constantly ! A person can do this if they are eating healthy food, and a person needs to do this to keep stoking the furnace for continued activity.

Don't sweat it - people do tend to comment on what is different from their own experience. I don't think they really mean anything by it, and if they do, brush it off.

As my 5 year old likes to say....whatever !

A lot of nutritionist recommend 'grazing.' A bunch of small meals as opposed to three big ones. Keeps your blood sugar on a more even level and you don't binge when hunger pains hit.

I don't think that commenting on a public board about what "fat" people eat is quite the same as commenting to someone's face as they are about to indulge in an apple.
I'm also sure that GreenEggsAndHam wouldn't walk up to a fat person as they are about to inhale a bucket of fries & comment on how unhealthy it is. Why is it ok for some to judge & not the others?
I completely understand your frustration, GreenEggs. My advice is to literally ignore the person when they say something, or respond with something about what you've seen them eat (that's obviously not so healthy). Unless they are looking for a constant battle with you, i'm sure they'll shut up eventually.

Right, Especially since this is a discussion board about food, fitness and often, weightloss.

Re: "You eat too much..."
My favorite phrase:

"You may be right."

Life is too short to worry about what other people think, say, or obsess about. If they take it upon themselves to judge or comment, you can either smile, say "You may be right" and then move on to what is important to you, or you can get caught up in it and let it take a little away from your day. I decided others don't have the right.

That's why I like to wade into the controversial threads, post my rebuke, then ignore the threads ... just a waste of time worrying about the time others waste trying to come up with a way to both disagree and somehow belittle my opinion at the same time. "Next."

Re: "You eat too much..."
Where I work we have a delivery guy that comes into the office 1-2 times everyday for packages. I sign for them every time (most days). One day he makes this comment about how I'm always eating something when he comes in. It's true, but what the heck does that mean by mentioning it? Am I like huge and should be fasting or what??!! I basically acted shocked when he said that, and then he says "with your girlish figure"

Hahaha, what a save.

He's definately married. I think married men have mastered the art of saving themselves from 'foot in mouth' syndrome.
