Bear Naked

Here I am enjoying the wonderful weather in Hilton Head Island, SC ans thumbing my nose at all those up north who must endure.

I thought I would drop a line about a new cereal I found by a company called Beat Naked. They make several but the one I like is called Medley. It consists of Organic whole grain oats, organic rye, organic sunflower seeds, organic barley, organic whole grain. You can read about it here:

I've seen it and I'm a huge granola fan. I'll have to try it.

Enjoy HH! Have some soft shell crab for me, too.

It is zero degrees here; I must say you suck.

I am a huge fan of Bear Naked. Got some in a race goodie bag, and thought, "Oh, yuck." Stuck it in my drawer at work, as a healthy alternative to the constant cr*p buffet.
I was shocked at how delicious and satisfying it was! Ate it right from the bag, too. They carry it at local supermarkets, so I take a couple of the small size when I travel. It is a great snack while flying, hiking, camping, or to munch on at work when everyone else is mawing on chips. Enjoy!

so yummy. They make a pretty good instant oatmeal in a few different flavors as well...

We can get Bear Naked at our local Costco's out here in the west. Feel bad for all you in the east getting totally hammered by the winter weather.

That stuff is the best....we got a bunch of samples at the Disneyland HM in September. Really tasty. Unfortunately, not available here.

You don't have to feel too bad for all of us in the east...I just got the last 3 days off work due to the "inclement weather". I like the snow .

I am not big on the taste of nuts, so it is hard for me to find a store granola that I can bear. I do however love their "Peak Protein" mix.
Tastes great mixed with some yogurt or right out of the bag after a long run.

Maybe that's what I like, no nutty flavor Just Grain and Seeds.
I prefer my flavor from my beer, oh, that's a different thread...

I love Quaker Natural granola--but it's not good for me. BN is great and it's starting to show up in a lot of mainstream stores. TC

I read an article about the founders who are in their 20s and they wanted to disassociate their product from 'granola' as they associated 'granola' with old hippies and wanted their product to appear 'hip'
well this 38 year old kinda hippe was a lil offended by the way they went on so I WONT eat it!

I too just tried bear naked granola. Good, I think, with a nice nut flavor and not too sweet, unlike other granola's out there. The problem is when I looked at the nutrition info, I saw that it contains a lot of fat (over 40% of the calories in fact). And a bit on the expensive side, but I guess it's for special occasions.

I found it at my grocery store, and just had to try it! I used it to make bread. Very, very good!!! Only problem is the protein stuff is all I can use, since one of my kids is deathly allergic to nuts.
