What is your favorite race morning breakfast?

I usually have a bowl of oatmeal and fruit. What breakfast gives you the most energy for race day?

I always just eat a luna bar. Races generally require me to get up at some ungodly hour of the morning and I get ill if I try to eat too early so I just grab a luna bar and go.

A smoothie made with 1 cup OJ, 1 cup berries, 1/2 cup lowfat plain yogurt, 1 banana and 2 tbs ground flaxseed. Lots of good carbs and (for me) the right amount of protein and fat. Drink at least 1 hour before the race.

Either a pumpernickel roll, or some rye bread, with a tad of butter. 2 bananas. (pre-long run/marathon/longer).
If I eat more, my tummy rebels in the first 10-12 miles. This means I have to carry some food, so it will be a double caffeine tangerine power gel, pnut butter power bar(s), and try to get bananas and oranges on the course, or gotten to me.

I mix up a smoothie using whey protein powder, banana, some kind of berry - usually strawberries, and water. I ran a 10 mile having only that before hand and it sustained me.

Cute

If the start is before 9:30am ... milky coffee (with some pre-race gatorade if it's a half or longer). If it starts later then it's usually a marathon and I have to figure something out ... which ends up being a breakfast of some sports bar (bleck). Since I've been running at lunch lately and the PB on toast has been working ... I might give it a try next time a marathon comes my way.

A banana and half a bagel with peanut butter. That is if I get up early enough to eat...I can't eat within 3 hours of a run/race or I pay for it.

Yogurt with some pb mixed in and some oatmeal or flax seed. But I have to eat at least 3 hrs before the race. Oh and don't forget the morning coffee.
