Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
This is truly the PITS!!! Take a great, easy to use site and totally screw it up with your "upgrade". I've got to find another site to log my running. Any suggestions. Good-bye Cool Running. What a shame.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
Fricking hooky man. I used cool running daily and this site sucks. I have to wait 24 hours for my data to transfer. This is a pure sell-out, and I'm getting out. If lucky, I'll get my last weeks of data out and I'm done. I'm ****** and won't trust active at all. I'll bug the **** out of 'em to get my data if I need to. It's another we don't care about you - it's about us and how much $$$ we can make on the internet by littering your life and screen with ads. Maybe I'll learn code and write my own %##^&& program as an apple program to share free.

Eventually we all gotta join together and fight the take over of the net by this kind of ****. Sorry for the rant.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?

I hate piling on but the new site is pure rubbish. It's amazing how many of us all miss coolrunning for the same reasons. It's a shame that it seems now as it seems to be history. The countless spam emails from active.com describing the upgrade fail to mention just how crummy their migration plans really are. That is what is more upsetting than anything else.

This is a classic case of "tiered-services" which is only exacerbated by them holding our running log info "hostage". This sucks...

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
I could just cry -- they only "transitioned" about half of the miles I've logged on cool running over the past five years. And there are miles missing in every single week. All of that running history gone! It means nothing to anyone but me, I know. But it meant a heck of a lot to me to be able to flip through the years to see how much mileage I logged at various times of the year and my pace. I'm almost sick to my stomach over it. I feel like I've lost a friend.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
I found my log but had a very difficult time adding a new workout. It appears as a planned workout on the report. Much too complicated! I'm going to head somewhere else - maybe Runners World? Not quite sure what is close to Coolrunning. Just a bit disappointed that I've lost all my training data. I just got back into running this past year and it was really motiviating to see how I was progressing over the year. Too bad I'll have to start all over again! Can't believe what a downgrade this is. Hope all the money Coolrunning received for selling their data was worth it to them!

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
I just added a new run workout and the software is unable to save my run time-basic stuff.

I've tried 3 times to log a simple 3 mile run and the software cant save my time nor obviously compute my pace.

Get your **** together idiots.

Worse even is these guys are worried about bandwidth I get autmatically logged out and have to sign back in every hour.

Did you idiots really think you could monetize coolrunners with this type of service.

How can you not show weekly, monthly and yearly totals?

How can you not have the software correctly save workout duration and compute pace?

how was this not yet tested and fixed.

Did you think you could garner customers by losing client data that some people like myself have had for years.

Coolrunning also ****** us not just Active.com Coolrunning sold out bigtime.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
This is the worst "upgrade" ever. Nothing was wrong with the cool running training log.

To the owners: Were people complaining? I am guessing the answer is no. Are they complaining now? I don't have to answer that question. This is sh!t.

Check out PurpleHaze's post in the 'somethin that might help" thread. I t just workde for me :

If any of you know of a persistant link to your running log (as in, you have shared your running log and know of the link to it) you can still kind of get your old data back. Just go to your log (for example mine is: http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=PurpleHaze;s=russians) and then you can go to Tools > Download your running log. For some reason it downloads as a CGI file rather than an Excel file. Open the CGI file in a web browser and then copy and paste all the text into a Word document on your computer. This still has its issues but pretty much anything is better than Active Trainer!

Phew. I'm so glad I shared mine out just this past October and still had the old e-mail around referencing it.
Once you have the cgi open in your web browser you can right click and then import into excel.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?

Here is what I did and it worked for me.

From the email you recieved, click the log-in link.

You should get a page asking you to log into Cool Running and Active.com.

From there, I found a link in the upper right called "My Active" click that.

From there, scroll down and on the right you will see a link called "Active Trainer, View Training Plans."

From there, there is a button at the top called Active Trainer Members Log In. CLICK THAT. Do not create a new account.

From there you will get the merge page. It does indicate it takes about 24 hours.

I logged out and them back in and got a blank calendar, which I though was a good sign.

I have no idea what to expect from here... but I am in.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?

That is what it comes down. Make sure if you are able to get your data, make your own log. Don't let this happen again.

And this will happen again when the next site becomes popular and the owners think they can make some cash from us.

Jeesh $10 a month for a log!!!!

Coolrunning had it all; it was a great site, why would they want to screw it up?

http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=myusername;s=coolrun

I don't know if it requires that you had shared your log with someone or not, but change the 'myusername' to yours and you might get a public display of your old data.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?
I'm waiting for my data to come through and will see how it looks. Otherwise I will look at switching. Some people recommend this log: http://www.buckeyeoutdoors.com . I haven't looked at the Runner's World one yet but will take a look before I make a final decision. Such a shame to have lost a log that worked so well.

Re: so where do I find my Cool Running log?

I can't find my normal weekly, monthly, and yearly totals. Plus the per mile breakdown, my shoe totals, I think when it merged it missed plenty of my workouts, and the setup is really not even close to being user friendly. I have been a loyal coolrunning user for years, and now have to basically start from scratch with another website. Runners World?? Is that the consensus?? Or is there a better option??

RIP COOLRUNNING
