Last time I did speedwork on a treadmill it felt unnatural, too easy, not quite the same thing as running. But it's better than not doing speedwork at all if it's hot/humid outside. Plus it's boring.

"Track or Treadmill?"

Yes!

I really don't have any problems transitioning from one to the other and don't see what all the fuss is about.

Neither. Garmin and river path.

I use both the track and treadmill but started on the treadmill, more from convenience than anything else. My experience is that the treadmill has taught me to run even paced intervals on the track. One could argue that practicing soley on a track would give the same result. In the end it doesn't matter as long as you are meeting the goals of the workout.

I have run into issues where some treadmills do not go fast enough or cannot hold the selected pace, i.e. it slows down. That's annoying.

If a speed day is thunder and lightning or oppressively hot and humid; a treadmill.

Choice 1: track
Choice 2: road on measured strip (soon to be garmin)
Choice 3: do it later in the week

Will use treadmill for easy run. Did a couple long runs on treadmill, but not sure if I could/would do that again. I think my treadmill is fast so doing speedwork on it would kill me.

Golf Course - LOL. Well, I guess the tee marker does state how far it is to the hole... just try to avoid the water hazards else it'll be triathlon training.

Last time I did speedwork on a treadmill I kept throwing the circuit breaker for the cluster of machines I was running in. Then I thought, what the heck am I doing running inside on a machine? I'm an animal, but I ain't no hamster for godssakes!
