Bosu ball anyone?

I observed a trainer at my gym training a soccer player on this bosu ball. I got to say I was impressed. This looked like something that could help runners greatly, anyone ever try it?

She was doing plymetric and balance agility type stuff put together in a circuit fasion.

Anyone know of any of these exercises specific to runners?

Re: Bosu ball anyone?
I use one every time I'm at the gym, 3 or more days a week. There are so many uses I almost don't know where to begin. Upside down for push ups with my feet up on a ball, standing on it while doing chest flys, alternating arms while doing push ups while jumping over it and switching hands, using two of them and alternating legs while catching a medecine ball, toe taps at high rate of speed, shadow boxing while standing on it while trainer hold pads for me to box....etc. etc. etc. Great tool for so many things.....

Re: Bosu ball anyone?
I use a bosu ball as part of my gym workout. It teaches you balance, highlights imbalances and is a good complement to standard strength/core training.

Lunges and squats are the best leg exercises. Try practicing squats (no weights) while standing on the flat side. Flip the ball over and alternate your fore and rear foot during sets of static lunges. You can also do standing side leg raises to work the hip flexors while on the dome. It's not as easy as it seems.

Re: Bosu ball anyone?
I incorporate it into my usual training while at the gym and not by itself since my workouts last a little more than a hour. Since you are a member of a gym and have seen others using this piece of equipment, why not just watch them and then try to implement into your workout? I myself am a visual learner and do best when I see someone else doing something and can usually copy it better than reading something and trying to do it. At my gym, the trainers are very out going and usually will offer advice freely when asked, perhaps try that....nothing to lose by asking.

Re: Bosu ball anyone?
I can kick your butt w/ just a bosu in 5 mins. What are you looking for exactly?
Per speed/ conditioning, per core/balance, strength training?

Re: Bosu ball anyone?
I've been thinking about buying one of these for a while but hesitated because of the price. I have a balance board but am not consistent with using it. But, I need more variety in my workouts so I think I'd like this better. If not, there's always Ebay. I saw a set of 3 or 4 DVDs that sound like they would be good to do with it. Can I get by for a while just using the DVD that comes with it?
