Time off before the 1/2 ?

Hoping for some insight. I've been training to run in a half marathon coming up on Aug 11. Was up to 40 mpw and have gone over 13 miles on 4 occassions training already. A little over a week ago, I developed some pain in my knee and only got in 7 miles last week. Still not feeling 100% but don't want to lose any fitness. I'm thinking if my easy 3 miles today ain't so easy, I'll simply rest til the 11th and try to gut it out. Any idea how much fitness I'll lose? It will be over 2 weeks of doing virtually nothing (maybe a total of like 13 miles).

Just take the two weeks as a forced taper (some of us don't taper ). If you are not too serious about a time target, then this period won't register much in the fitness department.

Heal well, and good luck to you in the half !
