Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?

Tell us if you would like to see Active.com add back the Coolrunning.com Running Log features as a replacement for the Active Calendar

What do you think?

Re: Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?

I'm not worried about features yet. I want my lost data back first. Sheesh. I never would have expected them losing data in a conversion.

I work in Information Technology and there is about nothing less acceptable than losing data in a conversion. That's the stuff CIOs get fired for in the real world.

PapaBanucci these threads should help you get your log data on a spreadsheet.

As for Coolrunning.com Running Log features as a replacement for the Active Calendar *YES, YES, YES, YES*!!!

Geez, they bought the site and everything in it. Why can't we just keep the log.

Croydon, I'd be happy(er) if I could do that but I didn't have my log set up for sharing. :-( There appears to be no way to get at my full log data. This sucks.

Re: Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?

You may be able to. I didn't share my stuff, but I saw the above post and just subbed my logon name with purplehaze's

http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=PurpleHaze;s=russians

I just put it in right after the first = sign. just my logon name. i have no idea if it will work for anyone else, but it worked for me AND i was able to type NEW stuff AND IT SAVED IT!!!

So now, I know, I just have to run 47.2 miles the rest of the year to hit my goal of 1,000 miles YEAH YEAH YEAH.

I truly hope this works for everyone else.

Duh! (Sorry if I sound like I'm being snarky to you. ALL of my snarkiness, and there's lot of it, is directed toward the idiots at active who screwed up CR.) Of course we want the info that we've put in FOR THE LAST TWO FREAKING YEARS!!!!

Totals; other sports; graphs.

If I did my job as poorly as the active folks, I'd be looking for a new one about now. This site sucks.

Re: Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?
If Active.com bought the whole Coolrunning site, including the Coolrunning log - why not make it available??? It was great. Very user-friendly, and I liked it from the start. The Active Calendar is terrible! No weather info, no saved routes, no shoe mileage... and you have to click on like 3 links to enter all the info for one run.

Re: Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?
Why is it, with all these threads complaining about the logs, there is NO ONE from Active.com responding? I haven't seen one post from them saying they are interested in our posts or even reading them. Has anyone seen any responses from ACTIVE???

Re: Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?
I tried several different online logs and chose CoolRunning because I liked their features. What Active does not understand is that we could have chosen Active Trainer to begin with if that was the type of log we wanted. But we did not. We wanted what CoolRunning offered, therefore we signed up with them and used them. I don't see any reason for you to not copy the look and feel of the CR log and let us use that. Your excuse is that it had problems and some security holes. Who's to say your's does not have similar problems? If you are that much better at fixing these problems then just build a new log that mimics what we are used to and allow us to use it.

Much of my logged data did not survive the import. My log is totally useless at this point. Fortunately I exported last week and have my info that I can take somewhere else.

YES, though I'm not sure I would use it after being jerked around like this!

Re: Would You Like to See the Coolrunning Log Features?
Let us sincerely apologize for the problems you are currently experiencing with the transition from Cool Running to the Active system.

Our team has worked extremely hard to try and minimize these issues. However, any transition is going to cause some discomfort. Moving from the familiar to something new is a difficult situation. You may be asking why this transition occurred in the first place. The simple reason is that it was necessary simply to maintain the day to day operations of CoolRunning.com. The old CoolRunning.com system could no longer handle the load of the community. Furthermore, there were data security and maintenance issues that were creating an increasing strain on the system. Over the last six months, there were numerous issues of users losing data on the CoolRunning.com system, a trend that was accelerating into the New Year. By moving the message boards and running log to Active.com, you benefit from Active's more robust infrastructure, meaning no more lost data.

Again, we apologize for any problems you may be experiencing in the transition. We value your feedback and it is our goal to work with you to ensure your concerns are addressed and promptly resolved.
