Help - injured, can I still run HM

I've been running for about 1.5 years and have been training for my first HM. I had a knee injury before starting a training program. I took 2 weeks off, then started John Bingham's program. I liked the way it ramps up slowly and is low mileage and has 3 days running/2 days cross-training. I took up swimming and cycling as cross training. I run/walk. I wear a knee band for support, do strengthening exercises, and use a foam roller. I've followed the program exactly, except for the longest run which is a 10 mile run this weekend.

However, the knee problem has been in the background. I thought I'd gotten over this and did not think it was going to present a problem. However, I tried to run today and then it hurt to walk and climb stairs. I'm going to my physio in two weeks. Meanwhile, what would you suggest? Can I still run the HM? Should I just write off the longest run of the program, cross train, and hope for the best? This is really frustrating.

Hey Susan,
Suggestion: Relax, get healthy. There are hundreds, thousands of races in the future. I am sorry you are injured. Be greatful you have 2 legs and are ambulatory. If you can bike and swim--do that. Nick
