I got mine on Amazon too, for right at about $200 and this was in June. I didn't know about the Powerbar $50 thing then...sounds like a good deal.

Ksabbo..thank you for mentioning Amazon. I ordered the 205 on Sunday and have it already! I LOVE it! So, so much better than the 201. It locked on to a signal almost immediately and since I was on the track tonight, I tested it out. Spot on!

Wal-Mart.com has it for $218.
I'm gonna check out the 205. Anyone know what the difference is?

Edited to say:
Oops, mean the 301, not the 205.

Consider that if you purchase from REI you have a lifetime return for any reason. You can walk into any REI and return it for a brand new one, not a refurb. You can bypass Garmin's customer service. Get tired of it, stop using it, decide you don't like it, whatever.

Well worth spending a few extra bucks for.

FYI, Until Nov 30 and if you are a Costco member. Costco is selling the Garmin 305 for 179.99 If you take advantage of the Powerbar coupon for $50 it will bring to total cost down to 129.99.

Little has the best idea. REI has a very low price with a one hundred percent satisfaction guarantee.

I was looking at the 305 and found it several places for around 217-218 and on Amazon for 205, I also saw some on Ebay. I liked the features, but when I saw the size of this thing to wear on my wrist, I said no way.

I'm looking at going simpler like a Polar model. Wouldn't have things like Elevation like I wanted, but for running, I like the fact that it's much smaller.
