Alternative Running Log Sites?

First...thanks to the posters who pointed out how to download your original CoolRunning data
(by going to http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=userid;p=password).

I am also very disappointed in the Active migration. It's been 24 hours and as near as I can tell, none of my data has been transferred and I am losing hope.

I am looking at alternative sites for my online log. So far, RunningAhead.com looks to have features comparable to CR, and it's free.

Anyone have experience with RunningAhead?

FitnessJournal.com also looks full-featured, but it's a pay site.

Anyone else come across good alternatives?

Any coders out there that care to recreate the CR interface?

Thanks!

I tired following the link you included in your post, but I couldn't get to my old CR data. Just got some sort of error page.

I too have been looking at alternatives, the one at Runner's World seems okay, very similar to the Running Ahead one.

the Running Ahead log was licensed by Runner's World earlier this year. If it's good enough for Runner's World, it's good enough for me. Eric helped me import my log to Running Ahead and everything looks great! At the risk of being ostracized, I think it maybe even better than the CR log.

For me it is almost the end of the year, so I don't know if I'm that worried about the past years running mileage and such. I will just start over once the New Year gets here. I use a running log on www.flocasts.org go to the flotrack link and then flotrackr and sign up. They keep pretty much the same information that coolrunning did. Also it is a site for watching running videos and interviews and such. Enjoy and have a great day.

I recommend www.fastrunningblog.com as an alternative if Active Trainer really doesn't fit your bill. Pretty good logging capabilities, but even better community of runners and great support group for runners of all abilities. There are runners on this website that range from new runners all the way to Olympic Marathon Trials runners to ask questions and encourage you. Go check it out.

yeah, if you go directly to http://www.active.com/page/coolrunning/login?referrerUrl=http://www.active.com/home.htm don't pay attention to the fact that is says use your email address at the top. That's only after your data is transferred. Once you get logged in, it makes you change your username to your email address. It's not too bad actually but it does depend on how much data you have to transfer over. Mine was very little so it didn't take long but if you have years of data it may take a couple days. Hard to say I guess.

Runner's World has a log as well. The RW log sems to have much of the functionality that we had with CR. I wish that there would have been a heads up to export our logs before they were trashed.

I like this log myself. You can import the CoolRunning format as well as other formats into it. Plus it lets you map your routes and other nifty stuff. Check it out.

Another kudos to www.running2win.com for their running log. Very easy to work with & similar to our old CR log but with some cool added features that are relevant to running & crosstraining. Mike at the site is quick to import your log and will take suggestions for improvements too. I am very excited to find a site where I feel like I am wanted and can easily access all of my info. Love all the cool graphs that are on my log home page as well.

As for getting a "heads up" for the change to our CR log... I thought Active & CR did a pretty good job of letting us know when they were going to be changing over. I received multiple emails warning of the transition and made sure I exported my log beforehand.

God Bless you. Thanks so much for the transfer information. I imported my log from Cool Running to Active.Com before I discovered what a tragic "merger" this was. Your post made it easy to understand how to retrieve information and I have successfully exported and imported into Running Ahead after doing some research on the log with the most similar features to Cool Running. I needed all the cross-training stuff, not a running log only. Many thanks. Running Ahead seems even more easy to use than Cool Running was and seems to have a great community.

Is this still possible? Just tried to get my log but it didn't work. I really want to switch out this new interface and go to runningahead
