Re: Why all the whining?

Because it's the CH.

It's what we do best.

Re: Why all the whining?

Like other people that have tried to find their running log I as of yet have been unable. Based on the recommendation of another I have created an account on www.runningahead.com. I plan on converting my history to the new site once I finally figure out a way to get it off this site. I strongly suggest evreyone else to do teh same.

Truer words have never been spoken.

We're already whining about the whining. Feels like home. :)

Re: Why all the whining?
Since my daughter was born (in April), I've been tracking my mileage and every 100 miles, I buy myself a present (any motivation to lose the baby weight!). I can't figure out how to find my total mileage anymore. I tried to run a report and it said I could only do it for the last 31 days - what's up with that? Has anyone found the total mileage place?

Re: Why all the whining?

<<<And yeah, people are going to whine. Active came in and bought out Coolrunning, started charging for some much beloved features, and trashed the rest in what they call an "upgrade" without soliciting input from the people who actually used the site as to what was important to them.

First, almost no website will survives without revenue from users. Ads are good income but until you have users who "really" value something, a site is just coasting until the thrill of endulging a hobby goes away and the need to make money becomes clear.

I love the way people state absolutes when they have no way of knowing what they are talking about. How can you be so sure that people were not solicited about the changes?

i work most in the computer field and have been responsible for implimenting tons of stuff and if it was left up to users to make and impliment "serious" changes we'd still be using are fingers and toes to count.

If something you like is really "beloved" then having to pay for it shouldn't make that much difference. I question people's committment to what they say is important to them. Nobody can ever please fickle people who won't pay didly for something they will get indignate about if it is denied them.

However, to find the CR threads you can do it 2 ways.

1) Go to the main CR home page and click on the rightmost tab at the top "community"

Then in yellow area on the left click on "Discussion Forums and the list of CR forums should appear

2) try this link from # 1 above.

Dude, I'm not a f*cking idiot--that link brings you RIGHT BACK HERE. The past threads from coolrunning no longer exist.

As for me, my objections to the place are mostly that it looks like sh*t. But I was merely relating to you why others are upset.

Re: Why all the whining?
I think the "whining" comes because an upgrade should be a step up, or at least something equal to. However, so far this is a step down. And while this may be the first full day of operations, they had the site down for multiple days to do the set up and had been working on it for 6 months. I'm okay with change, but was pretty frustrated to follow the directions on my "you've transitioned to Active" email to find no CR discussions and no links to the discussions. I even posted a "where's the CH?" discussion. I finally decided to try the old CR website and finally found these. I didn't have any online logs, so find myself fortunate on that. I think a little whining is okay when warranted and good for the soul.

Re: Why all the whining?
Well, I'd personally give this forum UI a relatively poor grade. Which isn't a whine about the change, but merely a comment on the design and usability compared to others and to other possibilities.

I think one can comment on that without being a change-resistant luddite.

This is jek302, btw. I only got email for this puppet I used once or twice on the day of the junta, not for the regular account I had and had data behind, etc. For whatever reason.

Re: Why all the whining?
I will say that it took me a while to figure out how to change my screen name back to my old CR name. Once I did that, it took me a while to figure out how to get back here. So, it's not terribly intuitive/user friendly, so far. My online time is limited - I'd rather not spend it running in circles. I'm also willing to give them some time to get the bugs worked out, and to see if I can learn more/figure it out. But I can see how people would be extremely frustrated.
