Basebuilding Question

Hello all
This is probably areal simple question to all you veterans.
i would like to increase my mileage to 30 plus.
I have run for a year and a half and i have built up to 22Mpw but after 4-5 weeks I seem to start to ache.
Now some history
I ran A 5k this spring in 25:00
a Half M this fall in 1.56 Just under a nine pace

i usually run my training runs in 8:40-9:30 range, I suspect I am running my training runs too fast.
Does this sound feasible?
my last run I ran on a TM at a 10:20 pace man it was a tough run, running on a TM seems harder to me after being outside all summer.
Any feedback would be welcomed.
Thanks Bob

Re: Basebuilding Question
Well, let's see. For me, I do most of my runs at a pace usually around 8:20 to 9:15. I run a 19:50 ish 5K, and 1:32 half marathon. I also run many miles from 10:00 to 10:30 with my wife as well.

Try doing most of your miles (like almost all for your base building) a good 2 minutes slower than your 5K pace.

You can also you a calculater to help give you an idea as well:
