foot pain near arch/ball of foot

Hi,

The last few runs I have been experiencing pain around 3 miles near the ball of my foot, closer to arch; when pushing off. Feel fine the first the few miles then develops around mile three.
It feels like the tendon that runs through my arch is very tight.
Any suggestions on stretches/exercies for this area?

Thanks, John

Re: foot pain near arch/ball of foot
Sounds like it might be the beginnings of plantar fascitis. I find that daily icing of the arches of my feet works best to ease the soreness of pf. But it can be a very painful and long lasting sitution if not taken care of. Search for "plantar fascitis" and you will find a lot of information on the condition and its treatment. Good Luck!

I agree with post from jorunning.. Thats how mine started off.. Look in the training section under aches and pains.. Some good info on what you need to do..
