Training -- Yes, probably ~80% of the time. More than half of that is spoken word podcasts instead of music.

Races -- Never.

I've only done up to 10k, doing my first half next month. Don't plan on using it then either but probably will if I ever do a marathon.

I do listen to them when I run. I usually don't bring them to a race because I have an older version of the ipod and after it bounces around for about 10 minutes it stops. I have found a way to get around the problem and will run my next race with it.

Training, yes. Common sense is too not have the thing so loud you can't hear.I run around my apartment and have to pay attention so that no one will run me over (idiots)

Don't race as of right now (newbie)

Training yes
never raced but when i do i will wear my ipod because i have trained with it. I will probably only listen with one ear though that way I am aware of my surroundings. Thats what I do when I bike ride.
