South Suburbs of Illinois...

Anyone run the bike trail in the South Suburbs?

I thought I would start our very own thread....

Any thoughts, suggestions??

I start my Marathon training next week for Chicago. (my first)
I think there is a CARA or Pancake Club that runs the bike trails training for Chicago...

I'm not sure which one you are talking about, I've run on the forest preserve paths in Lansing and Lynwood and I thought there were fine.

I think the trails are fine and am very blessed to live so close to them.
There are enough miles for marathon training, which is nice. And the people are generally very friendly. You can also change your route often to keep things fresh.

Edited to add: I run in the Oak Forest, Tinley Park, Orland Park areas...

Hi Guys!
I run the Park Forest paths and the Frankfort Trail with a group, and I hope to get on the Tinley Trail for my Chicago training as well.

The only trail I run alone is the one that goes from Highland Indiana to Crown Point. It's nicely marked with some water fountains and a lot of shade.

I've been on the Highland one from the expressway down to 45th. I don't live in the area anymore but was back for a family thing. I wish they had it there when I was in high school in Griffith.

I drive down Harlem Ave daily and see that it splits a trail in Frankfort, just past Rte 30. Is that the trail you run?
I really want to run that one, but am not sure how far it goes in either diretion...
