Hi all,

Yes, Welcome Schmuck! I too am a graduate of the C25K program. It really does work, last month I ran the full 21.1K of the NCM half Marathon.

I think, If all goes well, that I should be able to meet up with the thur. runners for the first time. You meet right in front of Villa Maria metro right? I will see you there... right after I find a parking spot!

Yes, JB, we are meeting just in front of the VM metro station. You can't miss us there. Looking forward to meet you. Less than two hours to go. Take care, RM

Hey Schmuck, the water must be good around where you live because there's some really good runners that live around that area. Good luck to you.

Saw the doc today.

I've got a classic strained ankle, a good one but nothing bad. He told me there is 3 levels, mine is level 1, so nothing too serious. I can walk on it but no running for me before I feel very confortable walking on it.

I won't push myself, that's for sure. It sucks, no doubt about it, but I consider myself lucky. Imagine if it would have happened 10 days BEFORE the Ottawa marathon instead of 10 days after.

So, I'll be back in July

Happy training

Good evening,

tonight was the first hill run without Df. Instead it showed up Mars, Chops, TB, JB, and yours truly. Since it was JB's first attendance the classic route over the oratory hill was chose as the menu of the day. Everything went fine and we finshed the course after some minutes more than one hour. I felt a need for some speed today and ran most of the time with Chops. A big thank you to my co-runners for this wonderful run. Take care

Something is happening to Ralph. I definitely think he is reaching a new level. Better form, faster, stronger.
JoeB looked awesome for a first-timer on the hills. Thanks to Mars and Turtleb for another great evening of huffing and puffing.

Thanks for an awesome run tonight guys!! You really had me huffin' a few times, but at the end there, I could have kept going (not for long however). I will most definatly make more Thur. runs!! And I will let you know if I will be coming from work, and how late I might be. I usually finish near 6:00pm, that is why I have not made it in the past.

TB, Thanks for all the advice! I will try hard to incorporate that into my running style/posture.

My legs are a little slower, but not too bad. Sorry I miised you DF, I hear you are usually the one to see around here!

Cheers, all

Oh, by the way, was it 11.5K that we did?

Yup, that was just around 11.5 K.

And anytime you, or any other Montreal Cool Runner, wants to join us but are unable to make the 6 PM start time, let me know. We can always move the starting time to later.

Great run by everyone. The dreaded evil hills actually felt pretty easy after last Saturday's Whiteface run. I think all 5 of us had a really fun time. And the weather was quite good.

Next stop: Sunday at 11 AM, on Mt-Royal. Looking forward to hooking up with DB and KJ, and anyone else that comes.

Take care all.

Hey, I ran 8k today, not as far as I would have liked to, but felt wet enough, and since I wasn't going to get a medal for running in the rain, I figured it was enough. Good thing about running on the mountain is that it gives a little protection from some of the rain with that overhead leaf coverage. Alright, so you also get dripped on all the time, but at least it "breaks" the rain ...

I ran 8 meters today... to the bus stop. Am fed up with the rain and the chilly temperature!! Wonder when the weather man will get it right. Last weekend it was scorching hot, now it's a mid-winter's nightmare...

Anything in between would be appreciated!!

For those running St-Bruno, I hear we are back to our regular programming (hot and humid, no rain) for Sunday. Have fun!

It's not hard to be humid, it just has to be hot.

I just came back from some easy 30 minutes plus some pickups. When I started the weather was just fine. Some slight rain - nothing really worth to talk about - and some stronger wind. Versus the end, however, the rain became stronger and I was soaked.

Never mind the rain, I am prepared for Sunday. I am not worried about the weather. Apart from the fact that I can't change it, the forcast says only 24 degree max. Since the race is in the morning, chances are good that we will run under nice warm sunny conditions.

Enjoy your weekend,

Ralf

Thanks for the good chuckle! Very witty and a good play on my post ... tee hee ...

Will you make it out to a Sunday run soon, DR? I won't be there this Sunday, but plan to be there for the one after. Mars, DB is a virgin hill runner, so I will be kind and NOT lend you my whip ... wish I could go up with you all ... the weather will be n-i-c-e.

Good luck to those racing this weekend!

So who else is planning to attend Hurley's at 7:30pm this coming Monday? So far, there's me, DB (yes, you), Ralf, DR, and most likely Mars (with Mrs. Mars in tow I hope!) RG, will you be able to make it?

Sally

Sally, I'm not sure what's happening but I think I'm going to run locally on Sunday because of father's day. Actually, it's become Father's day Weekend since we are already getting a head start today... More excuses to eat I guess! haha... Don't worry, I will be running both today and tomorrow, not just eating...

Another reason for not running on the mountain on sunday : the only "hill" I ran this year was...

...

...

...

I don't think remember running any hills this year!!!

I'll get to it eventually, when the holidays or the excuses run out... hehehehe. No seriously. I will this summer. I'm off for my run now. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
