i am in South Dakota as well, Sioux Falls.
Moved back from L.A. last summer, and am trying to get used to the winter training, and now the summer heat.
Do you know of any area running clubs?

I am orginally from White Lake SD. I know live in Dallas, TX. How different is that. White Lake had about 400 people and was freezing cold in the winter. Nothing like Dallas. I never ran in SD but if I did it would have been inside

I went to School at USD had a great time. It is nice to meet y'all!

Did you know Steve Schmidt? I went to college with him. Very funny guy. Just wondering? I don't know where he ended up.

Mt. Vernon SD here. Have been to Milbank a couple of times for the Milbank Train Festival. I have a cousin in Ortonville that always lets us stay at their cabin on the lake for the weekend.

I am in Aberdeen...basically been here all my life.

Last year for the train festival! My parents used to take me there when I was a kid. That's kinda sad...maybe I should take my kids there this year, they would get a kick out of that!

jstadler - White Lake?! I'm from MN (graduated from college in Dallas! - SMU), but I've pheasant hunted for years in White Lake, SD. I LOVE it there. We'll be there again this year for the opener. We're hunting new land this year so don't ask me exactly where we'll be. I'm not sure. Our fearless brain wizard supposedly has found the perfect spot. We'll see.

If all goes well with my current training, I'll be recuperating from the Twin Cities marathon then and running the gravel roads veeery slowly and gingerly if at all.

Its too bad about Train Festival. Up until last year we were a food vendor for that event. Didnt do it last year because of a scheduling conflict. Dakota Runner, maybe you saw me there. A little red trailer that said Dakota Snow Shaved Ice. My cousin lives in Ortonville and as I said before she would always let us stay in the cabin on the lake. What a great place for the weekend.

Anybody here from SD that is going to run the 1/2 Marathon in Sioux Falls on September 11th? Thats what Im currently training for. Will be my first one.

Later
