Usually pronounced Lou-uh-vull (similar to Mizzurrah), but Lousyville can be freely substituted. Out-of-towners often pronounce it Lou-is-vill.

Originally from Cox's Creek - 6 miles north of Bardstown.

Re: Kentucky runners
I live in Michigan, but was born and raised in Hamilton Ohio.

My Mom, originally from Louisville-(she says LOW-uh -ville), relocated back to nearby Bardstown after retirement.

I have ran the Louisville and The Kentucky Derby marathon and enjoyed both.
