Any other Winnipeg or Manitoba runners out there?

Did you go out and watch the nationals??

I'm from Montreal, Quebec but I watched the 800 women's race. Great race. I wish I was in Manitoba!

No, I only started running 4 weeks ago and up to the day I started I had zero interest in the sport.

Hi Gord! I'm not in Winnipeg, but I'm from Winnipeg, living in NYC for the last 6 years... New York is great but I have to say I miss Canada/Manitoba/Winnipeg! Hope you're out enjoying all the fabulous festivals and events going on throughout summer...
If you're looking for running Winnipeggers, maybe try the Running Room. Way back, I had a friend who I think trained with them when she ran the Manitoba Half Marathon. They also have a forum on their website, and I think I've seen a couple people from the 'Peg on there. http://www.runningroom.com[/URL" target="_blank">
Good luck with your training!

Hey Carolyn! Yes, I'm still checking. I've also changed my user name.

Congrats on starting running. I just started in June so I'm quite new myself. You can find out more at my updated user profile.

Hi Gord -

Great web site!! There's another guy on the 30-something thread in Newbie Cafe that lives in Winnipeg. Bit more of an accomplished runner than I am - his post today casually mentioned his 18 k run this weekend!

How are you managing with the ice and snow? So far I've been okay, but things are looking a little slippery for tonight and I'm more than a little nervous. My plan is to wait until later in the evening and hope the traffic clears enough that I can run on the streets in my little neighbourhood.

Take Care!

It's been a great winter! I invested in a set of shoes pikes earlier in the season but have rarely used them. I find they are better on icy surfaces than snowy.

We'be been blessed with an exceptionaly warm winter. Yay!
