Where to go in Golden, CO. Running

I have the Jeffereson County parks and open space maps. Thing is, the trails are chopped up into small pieces for recreational walkers, for the most part. And the maps give little sense of terrain or topology except in a broad sense. I prefer easy to moderate courses, 6 - 12 mile long. This is why I'm hoping to find someone who's actually been there and done that.

And it doesn't need to be a trail. I'd be very grateful to learn about scenic, low traffic volume roads and streets (or not too stark bike paths). Which instructions, I stand a much better chance of navigating such a route on my own (being dyslexic). I see on a map that they're quite a few miniature trails in downtown Golden. It would be great to be able to string a few of those together into a decent run.

The Frustrating thing about where I live (south of 6th ave) is that except for a small loop or two, I can't get get anywhere without driving. 6th Ave. West is really pretty isolated. Directly west is the fair grounds. East is Red Rockd CC and then Union. South quickly dead ends into suburbs or runs into Green Mtn. And without some serious, narrow, rocky and Very steep trails that I have yet to figure out, getting over Green Mtn., which is practically in my back yard, to the miles of trails and quite roads over there, doesn't seem possible. North is the traffic of Colorado Mills and Colfax.

There's a plethora of roads and trails out there, -just- beyond my reach, if only I could make sense of the layout. I'm hoping someone here can help get me started. A 9 min/mile running partner would be best.

Thank you for taking the time to assist me. BTW, I am very familiar with Bear Creek Lake and Red Rocks.

if you're fine with driving to THs, then you have a great deal of options. you can try white ranch, mesa trail, community ditch, coalton road trail, van bibber creek trail, 3 sisters, alderfer, apex, chimney gulch, green mtn., north table mountain, and a number of larger cemeteries in the area. you should be able to find maps for all of these trails pretty easily on the internet.
